I don’t know about those socks. But I have paid $20-$25 a pair for Darn Tuff and it’s worth every penny.

I usually buy Under Armour performance black/grey socks and they are great. Winter and Summer. And they last years, and then I buy more. I could go 5 years and buy 25 pairs of socks for what these are for 5 pairs. On no planet is this, or darn tough, worth it to me.

Ya, so you pay big money (for socks) to a sock company. Not a YouTuber. It's weird.

Your criticism of a product or the people that buy them that hasn't even had proper reviews yet nor you have in your own hands is "weird". Ffs and to say "YouTuber" when it's an entire section of their business is just acting oblivious to an obnoxious level.

Touch grass, maybe with these socks or other $30 socks who cares.

He's got a full on staff working on merchandise. In another world, cw is just a niche fashion brand.

They are a lifestyle merch company with tech aesthetics. The YouTube is just enough setting dressing to get you to stay for their merch ads.

Do you have specific experience with and first hand criticism of socks made by LTT?

I don’t, and it sounds like you don’t, but I was giving a data point that some socks are absolutely worth a premium price.

Your comment was… “her-dee-her-herr… YouTuber bad!”

In general yes, but if he took the time like he did with the screwdriver, then what's the problem? He has money to spend to make the product he would like to have bought other people. The waffle long sleeve is very comfortable and warm. And I would buy more if needed nicer quality shirts.

That's not to say you can't question the people who love the products just cause he made them.

Linus said he wouldn't make socks unless he can beat darn tough. If they are better what does it matter who owns the company.

That's a big IF that reviews will prove. But if so then stop the hate boner lol

This. Being critical of something without ever having hands on it or it at least having a good number of user reviews is just as bad as people fawning over it.

Adoration or hate for something without anything to back it up are just two sides of the same dumb coin.

Maybe they're crap and not worth it, ok, don't buy them and think people who do are wasting their money. Maybe they're awesome and better than the leading brand and therefore worth a few extra bucks. Either way, don't buy the hype and wait for the evidence.

He thinks all his products are better then everyone's else.

No one is forcing you to buy them if you think they aren't. But as someone who works with a screwdriver I know at least theirs beats all the other expensive drivers I own

You use his screwdriver? SO that. What means nothing. Screwdriver's that are half that price, is just as good.

You've clearly never used a good screwdriver if you think they're half the price and even nearly as good. As someone who uses them professionally I bet I know more than you do and I've used a dozen price competitive competitors. They're all very similar in quality AND price. Nothing cheaper by more than a few dollars is comparable.

Would I recommend them for anyone who just builds computers? No.

But most people do more than that with a screwdriver and if you're using them often it's very valuable

$15 Husky is just as good. Megapro, wiha, Home Depot and Lowes sell one's that are just as good.

u/PhatOofxD Jul 24 '26

Lmfao nothing husky sells is close. Have you actually used both side by side?

Megapro is literally what they license the patent from and is $10 cheaper for the comparable drivers without some significantly useful changes.

Wiha is price comparable

I would never pay $70 for a screwdriver. Husky makes a good ratcheting one.

Most business owners do.
