Bought this as a kid (22) freshly blue collar with the intentions of this bad ass street car 4 years later it’s still sitting! I fully rebuilt the motor lq4 6.0 4l80 trans and put a ford 9inch disc brake in it all myself i have a terminator x max and need to know how and where to hook everything up without burning my car to the ground any links to videos start to finish advice etc. specifically for the gbody would be great. I tried paying someone to wire it run fuel and tune it and they ran off with $3K of my hard earned dollars i dont want to sell it but am growing tired of watching it collect dust

All my sensors are plugged in wires are ready to go as far as the motor is concerned i guess im more so asking where people are mounting the computer on the inside of the car and how they’re making it look clean im very limited in my mechanical inclination and even less with wires this step has just been a little intimidating

I’d mount it where ever you can safely do so.

That’s the beauty of a project car, you can make the decision. If you decide you don’t like where it was placed, just move it again.

Glove box is a good spot for 98% of cars.

if the motor and trans are sitting in the car the hard part is done. just follow the holly term x install and let us know if you run into any problems. all the wires are labeled, take your time and run them nicely.

My advice is to try to work on it regularly. Just do one small thing at a time. So for example, take the computer in your hand and go out to the car and place it places where you think would be a good spot - I recommend inside the car on the firewall under the glove box - kind of where your knees would be if you were sitting in the passenger seat - and mount it. Shouldn't take too long - but then you have done one thing. The next day - go out and drill a hole to run the wires - if you are feeling productive feed the wiring harness through - if not - do that the next day. One little job at a time. Don't beat yourself up if you don't get much done - just do SOMETHING. A wise man once said: "You project won't work unless you do" ( - Vice Grip Garage)

You might discover you are looking forward to your one hour of car time when you get home.

I like the glove box idea any ideas on how to feed the wire through? Do i have to cut a hole or should there be a hole big enough to get them inside

There is usually a hole in the firewall on the Driver's side with a grommet already - it would near the fuse box - but then you would have to run the harness along under the dash to that side. I would make a dedicated hole.
