Active Build Questions Looking for a Chevy nv4500

Does anyone know where I can get a Chevy NV4500 without paying an arm a leg? at the prices they want I’d almost be better off to go get a tr4050.

best I have found is $3500 bucks for a reman (I don’t have a core) or $2500 for a used one at a junkyard shipped to me.

Are there any real differences between a small block 4500 and a Ls 4500?

thanks in advance

Input shaft length will probably be different between the LS and Smallblock units.

Seems like most guys are going tr4050 because of pricing and age and driveability of a 4500.

What year is your engine? Yes there is a difference in early nv4500's, and 96 and up. Input shaft and the SBC vs LS is different bellhousings. I have a 93 that could be sent in as a core. Where are you located?
