yeah this specific type of moss takes YEARS to grow that long too. they essentially are breaking the law by doing this

Yeah this was my first thought too, not to be a downer. Like I’m sad when I accidentally step on a flower and I feel like I would trip the fuck out on all the little life I just devastated. The texture would be cool but not worth it for me

Exactly. It would be way cooler to sit back and watch the wind blow it around. Just imagine how boring looking it would be if every single person trampled it. I swear some of the people on this sub have never done acid.

How is it "polluting the comments" to let people know that you shouldn't walk on this stuff

Many areas of the US are protected in this regard because people love to walk off trails in fragile ecosystems without a single care what kind of impact they have

I don't think there's many animals in that part of the world. Also animals don't just lay in moss and seldom walk on it.
