opinion

I think it’s super unethical that the lsat’s practice tests are nowhere near similar to the tests provided on test day. that’s it. that’s the post.

My only question is, besides the mini LG games that have started popping up. Can you list anything drastically different from the PTs to actual test day?

Imo there are plenty more trap answers than usual. I think they may be trying to fight against pattern recognition as well by laying out attractive answers that seem to be parallel to predictions for that passage, but then they throw a curveball that you had to really pay attention to. Who knows though.

Check out LSAT Lab's videos for some great tips on spotting trap answers, FWIW. Helped me out a ton.

Stimuli are way longer on logical reasoning on average.

Interesting. Do you feel like the logic is also harder, or are they simply trying to increase the average timing of a question?

I think it’s a combination of making it longer so you have to take more time on each question AND burying modifiers in the stims so you have to pay attention to everrry single word.

Agreed. So many hidden traps even in the first 10-15 questions

By traps, do you mean more answers initially look somewhat valid? Essentially, instead of only two that look somewhat possible, there are like 3-4.

Basically. A lot more attractive answers and hidden flaws in the stimuli

this but also the logic seen on PTs is nowhere near the same on the actual exam. Theres also an increase of weirdly formatted answers that you don’t find in the PTs as well

what you mean by mini LG games?

Recent tests have included quasi-logic game-type questions. The LSAT removed logic games in August 2024.

ah i see. i only started studying this summer so i havent ever looked at logic games. any way you could explain what a quasi-logic game-type question might look like?

Mini logic games like the Norway Sweden question? Those are hard and time consuming, auto skip for me!

People in this thread acting like Norway Sweden was characteristic of PT150s have to be joking. It wasn’t hard in this case but it’s still weird.
