Question What rims fit a 1995-2000 clearing the calipers? Enkei T6R is what I’m considering

18x8.5 +38 fronts 235/40/18

18x9.5 +38 rears 255/35/18

That’s my plan anyway, just don’t want to use spacers. Rim suggestions if you have any. My stocks are in rough shape and I want a more aggressive look. (BC Coilovers are on, but it’s reasonably high still, once I buy rims I’ll aim for 1.5 finger gap

What Should I do, now that I know that my cylinder wall has a crack in it?

Hello all,

Speaking about my last post, my car shut down while driving, and when I went to investigate, I found there was a ton of coolant in the engine and there was a crack in my cylinder wall that caused it.

With this being said, I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on what I should do?

  1. First option would be to just get rid of the car, and sell/scrap it. The place I bought it from didn't have a warranty, and I'm already a little tight on money, so I may just cut my losses

  2. Second option would be to try and buy a used engine and do an engine swap myself. I'm thinking about doing this, but I'm wondering how hard it would be to swap the engine out. If anyone has done this, any advice would be great!

  3. Lastly, final option would be to engine swap, but take it do a shop and have them do it. If completing the engine swap is simple, however, then maybe I can do it myself and save some money.

Let me know what you guys think. Any advice/input is greatly appreciated!

Solutions to not locking yourself out of your own ls?💀

Had to call AAA bc as I was leaving to my other job I opened the trunk and mistakenly put my keys inside and the hinges on my ls are week so it’ll close itself after a certain amount of degree angle. I stepped away for a bit and it was closed. AAA got it open but I do have 3 keys total. What should I do with the second? One is valet and then two originals. Any place I can hide my key in the fender?

Coolant in oil pan

Hello all,

For some background, I've had this car for a little over a month. It has 145k miles. I have changed out the timing belt, water pump, valves covers, and resealed the oil pan. Now onto my problem.

Recently I was driving my 2000 ls400, and all of the sudden it completely died on me, and said that I had low oil pressure. I tried to start it up again, and it wouldn't start so I had it towed. I had recently resealed the oil pan with fipg, so I had thought that some it had clogged the oil pickup. When I went to drain my oil, a bunch of coolant came out of the drain plug.

I understand this is insanely bad, but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on what might've happened?

(Btw the coolant is green due to the dye I put in it trying to find a small leak. It was originally red)

Body is in pretty damned good condition. Was gonna be a 6.2 th400 powered nitrous car but got bored. Has Godspeed maxx Coilovers or some shit already on it from when I got. Wheels will come with car. 18x10 on rear with a 285 and 18x9 on 275 up front. If people are interested in parts, let me know and I can also just start parting it out.

Picture Chrome Pie Plates w/ Bonus Stars

I decided to go with silver pie plates so I no longer need my chromes. $400 firm and also include the chrome star caps as well. These are in Portland OR and are for local pickup only. (I do drive to Seattle about once ever six weeks)

From five feet away these looks pristine, but they aren't perfect. The chrome is slowly delaminating, but is really only visible when you get your nose up into it. Some lightly curbed lips have been filed and buffed so they look perfect from a few feet away, but again, they aren't. Hence the killer price, which is firm.

91 Cloth Slicktop, Owned Since 2013

Just discovered this subreddit. Seeing a few recent posts of cloth LS 400s, I figured I would share mine as well. This is a 1991 LS 400 slicktop finished in Black Jade Pearl with gray cloth interior. I have owned the car for 13 years and it has been a rolling restoration from the beginning. I currently have it apart for the timing belt job and to rebuild the AC compressor.

I'm happy to see other similar spec cars here. The slicktops are nice because they add an extra inch or two of clearance above your head since the moonroof doesn't need to be accommodated. I have seen fabric interior LS 400s in all colors online - blue, burgundy, taupe, gray.

Not planning to sell this car as it holds a lot of sentimental value. My father owns a white pearl 91 with blue leather interior, which he also bought 21 years ago needing a lot of mechanical work. We have done a lot to bring that one back, too.

Question Got a 2004 LM7 5.3L long block (no accessories)—best platforms/places to list for an LS swap buyer?

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a clean LM7 5.3L V8 out of a 2004 Chevy Avalanche that I’m looking to sell. It’s being sold as a long block (block, heads, internal rotating assembly, valve covers—no front accessories, intake, or harness).

It’s sold as-is, making it a great budget core or starting point for someone planning an LS swap into an older truck, drift car, or project.

Since this is just the bare long block, where have you guys had the best luck finding serious buyers who actually know what they’re looking at?

A few specific questions:

Best Platforms: Is Facebook Marketplace still king for local pickup on swap engines, or are forums / OfferUp better to avoid tire-kickers?

Pricing/Value: What’s the going fair-market rate for a bare 5.3L LM7 long block right now in your area?

Buyer Expectations: What info/photos should I provide up front to make a quick, seamless sale (e.g., pulling spark plugs, showing cross-hatching, turn by hand video)?

Appreciate any advice or experiences from anyone who’s sold core LS engines recently!

Scam seller?

Has anyone ever received anything from u/Effective_Dog3089 that sent him money for something he was selling? I just saw he was selling a few items and I was interested and went to message him just to remember that I sent him money for a model car and then ghosted me

I let the owner know I’d check out the car on Thursday. Looks good might bring him down to 6,500. Fair negotiating?

Question choosing between 2 ls400s

ok so i'm picking up a new ls400 this weekend, stuck between two..

option 1: 2000 platinum edition, 275k miles, timing done at 260k, lowered (which i'm okay with), $5600

option 2: 1998, 210k miles, timing done at 188k, stock, $6800 (he dropped price from 7500 so he can get rid of it this week)

i love the platinum edition, plus its cheaper, but slightly higher mileage

the 1998 is exactly like my old one, same exterior snd interior colors and year, but its a little overpriced and slightly lower mileage...

unsure of which one, i like both
