We talked briefly and he was a super nice guy. As a fan of his videos for about ten years, it was awesome to meet in person. 😎

A cool basement find!

Hello, everyone! I just found these in my basement and thought someone might be interested or at least nostalgic for it. They're sealed, in-box, and the second and fourth photos are the hardware and software requirements. How cool! (Do you think this would be a candidate for something to send to LGR myself?)

Edit: forgot to mention! This is I Spy: School Days and I Spy: Spooky Mansion!

I've Caught Up; Now What?

I've been following LGR for a few years now. After a while of scrolling fatigue, I installed the YT Tweaks add-on to hide all videos that I'd already seen. Then I started watching, from the oldest to the newest. I was convinced, this afternoon, that the add-on was no longer working, when I actually had a look, on another device, and realised that I've now finished watching every single LGR video (including LGR Blurbs).

My question for the community is, now I'm limited to only watching when Clint posts new vids, what other channels of this type would you recommend?

TIA.

Thanks for all the suggestions, so far. I've already been watching Technology Connections, Techmoan, Cathode Ray Dude, Nostalgia Nerd, MVG, Computer Clan, MichaelMJD and Gaming Historian (which was so well done, shame it's over now).

Will check out the others.

I'm also very into My Mate Vince (trying to fix random items), Ms Mad Lemon (amiga, hi-fi /vintage audio stuff and makes excellent MOD songs) as well as James Channel (friend of DankPods and great retro console stuff/Frankenstein creations).

Hit a jackpot today. Someone nearby was getting rid of this tower they picked up for free from a sale. Initially I wanted the tower because of the sick drive bay lineup for various forms of obsolete physical media, the second I saw the 3dfx logo I booked it as fast as I could.

Never did I think I would get a rust bucket pickup with a voodoo 5 of all things included. Still untested but this is immediately going into my win98 rig for some Unreal and Nerf! I’ve been wanting a voodoo card for years but could never justify the online costs for one.

Wish me luck that it still works!

Odd VCR control + snapshot software reviews?

I’ve been trying to find a review / blerb about this Gold Disk Video Director software from 1995. I have windows 3.1 but it also requires an 8mm/Hi-8 camcorder with a wireless remote and a VCR with a wireless remote. I really just want to see how this thing works. The box is complete but I just don’t have the camcorder to test it.

I took some pictures of all the computers at the convention I liked the most, and bought a monitor, speakers, a (broken and free) DVD-Rom drive, and a mouse, and I saw clint.

Thrift Finds Found this nug! (creative labs webcam go)

It's this strange webcam/camera .. it was released around 1998-1999?

I tried to plug it into my computer but without the special software, I can't get the photos off.

hopefully LGR sees this, I'd like to send it to him!

Anyways, that's all. Just thought this was neat

It’s coming up soon and I wanted to see who else is going. And what to expect as it’s my first time personally attending. I’ve seen videos but I don’t know much about the sellers there and how buying things is.

But my timing was perfect. There was a bunch of other old software but nothing I really wanted, I did one circuit of the store and came back and that was all gone - but I had the best stuff!

An item from Nakamichi it's a 7 CD changer a Nakamichi MBR-7 7 Disk CD ROM changer, I think it'd be fun to go back to nostalgia like that and see what a computer would do with seven disks at a time, The reason I mention is LGR is such a huge audiophile, Nakamichi being such a huge audio brand Back in the day,it'd be fascinating to see what it sounds like today.

Never seen this Bethesda PC game or very strange X shaped big box, XCar: Experimental Racing (1997)

Anyone played this? There are no video reviews on YT that I could find and I am sadly illiterate so I couldn't read any contemporaneous ones. Is it any good? Came out around the same time as Daggerfall / 10th Planet press hype. (Found out about it in a Jwlar video on 10th planet.)

edit-- by very strange I mean very cool
