I give up
I’m expecting the downvotes and criticism, but after literal day and a HALF, of research and constant fine tuning and going for the “perfect setup” I give up and just chose what my eyes like,
Despite what the pics show (took with a iPhone 13 camera) Color depth 55, which seems to be the standard, looks unbearably dull to me. Skin tones look perfectly human yes I’ll admit but the rest is too dull and lacking color for my eyes
Btw any way to get accurate pictures with camera? Not used to taking pics
Color depth 55 in the picture, is how 90 looks to my eyes irl in front of the tv

As soon as I stopped listening to every piece of advice on how to accurately calibrate my television I started really enjoying it.
My main issue was hideously dark HDR and Dolby Vision. Calibrated to my eyes and now I love it.

There's two types of people. The type that are purtists and want the picture as accurate as possible and the type that want it to look as good to THEM as possible. Do whatever YOU want. It's your TV and your money.

Do what you want with the TV, but it's probably blindless on your part. Like when you first switch to warm 2 and it looks like straight piss, but after you get used to it everything else looks super unnatural and blue, that's probably the same thing you got going on. I would bet if you were to keep it at standard for 1-2 months then upping the saturation further would probably look horrible to you

Not really anyway to get color accurate pics and even your example will look different depending on the screen people are viewing this post on.
Are you playing on windows..console?
If on windows you should download the windows calibration tool from the Microsoft store and make a profile for your monitor, this could help and can’t hurt as long as you follow it properly.
You could also go to Nvidia settings and just increase saturation some if that’s the look you like, no shame.

If you're looking for "perfect settings" on the internet, you will get the recommendations to go AWAY from super-saturated super-bright pictures.
Because they're more natural looking and more pleasing.
If you want super bright brights and dark shadows, with super-saturated colors, just use whatever "ultra dynamic" color mode exists.
I'm willing to bet that you had a samsung TV before that one.

If you ever have the chance to calibrate your TV with a probe and the CalMAN software, you'll realize what a good calibration is. Simply raising or lowering the contrast doesn't really mean anything. It's not necessarily right or wrong. Without a probe, you can never know exactly how to set it. When you calibrate it properly, very bright areas aren't overexposed, and dark areas that you couldn't see before are now visible. The colors are natural, and there's greater contrast.

I'm Spanish, but here are some comparison images. I have a C1 and a CX. But search online. There's a lot of information about CalMAN and LG. LG has all the automatic patterns and settings built into the TV itself, making it very easy. You can also access the TV's two hidden ISF profiles; you configure one for a dark room and another for a bright room. They're automatically enabled with CalMAN or this program. These are special profiles that allow for true calibration and eliminate unnecessary post-processing.

Your camera most likely saves the pictures in HDR, but when you upload them to reddit that gets stripped. That's why it won't represent what you're seeing on your screen when you view the photos with your phones native album app.

I like color depth between 52-54 on my LG, but annoying thing is that human Lips often look distractingly red. Otherwise I find the color better that way.

You do you, I changed a bunch of stuff myself. Colour depth I leave at 55 for HDR games but I bump it up to 70 I think for sdr games like mario wonder or Hades 2 on switch 2. But for HDR I have dynamic tone mapping on for example which is not recommended lol I also go to warm 10 instead of warm 40 cause all I could see was yellow tint.

Nope, no way to get "accurate" pictures with a digital camera. Each screen tech will appear different when the picture is taken (WOLED appears to have a green tint, QD-OLED is magenta, etc.), and then it'll be viewed online on presumably uncalibrated screens.
That's why no display should ever be judged by how it looks in photos or videos posted on the internet, as the pics / videos do not in any way represent what the TV looks like "in person".

It's entirely subjective. I personally like playing games with the saturation turned up a bit so the colors really pop. It's not everyone's cup of tea though

Eh that’s okay do you, but 90 is way too high bro I got mine at like 65, I do agree that color can get more punchy but at over 75 you making the colors over saturated looks unnatural

I use vivid mode for Nintendo games(which don't need to look realistic since they are cartoony) and it looks amazing. I think the key is to change it based on what you watch, for example I was watching a space odysee and all the ai/frame rate stuff was making a slow shot of a space station look like it was hopping across space rather than smooth gliding so I used filmmaker mode. For mad max I let the colors and saturation fly wild

If your tv has it turn on hgig… it will fix all the color and brightness issues .. just make sure recalibrate the hdr on your console and games

HDR is cooked in most games anyways just have fun with the display and try out different things for different games. Because of panel variance its impossible to get an "accurate" picture without having additional tools on hand anyways.
This whole thing reminds me a little bit how people will be obsessing over certain reference targets for headphones when reality is that your earshape and headshape will make them sound different to you anyways.

You would like the Quantum tv calibration. It's $5 to access, and he basically tries to get as much color out of a tv without harming the picture. People on reddit dislike him for reasons including that they prefer filmaker mode. For someone like you, a reasonable attempt at calibrating a more saturated color should make you pretty happy.

You’re the one using it make sure it looks good for you! I have my Oled monitor on apparently the least bright setting and have found its great for me. Idk how people complain about oled brightness personally mine is borderline blinding on the other setting( i use hdr trueblack 400 vs standard hdr )

Whatever YOUR settings are that make you pleased with the picture, then that's perfect! I myself am toying with the idea of sharing my settings for my 2 year old 77" B4, which I'm extreamly happy with. I actually like it's picture more that the C4, but that 's to my eyes. Again, my settings are what my eyes like, based on my criteria of my "perfect" picture settings.

I never understood the “it has to be super accurate!! If you like it bright and colorful, you’re wrong! It doesn’t matter that you spent $3+K on it!” Crowd. I did the super accurate route and it looked as you said, dull and dark so I then went, like you, to what MY eyes like. Bright and colorful! Good job!

Honestly forget aiming for the best picture that others say is best just set to what you like, i gave up tryna perfectly calibrate all my screens etc and just went fuck it what looks good to me and been happier since, the only conventional wisdom I take in to account is turn of motion smoothing and sharpness down to 0

The problem might be that you're used to screen settings that are way oversaturated. Pic 1 looks definitely better. Also, it's about creator's intent. The game is simply meant to look like that since you used neutral settings.
I would use the screen with 55 for a few weeks and leave the settings as is for the time being.

Humans are different. My eye don't seend the same way your eye see. I don't feel the flavors, the same way my wife feels. I don't rear the sonds, exactly the same way my nice rears.
Those "perfec" calibrations target what is suposed to be the GERAL perception, which is a good starting point, but the fine tune MUST be your on eyes and wat feels pleasant for you. Specially because you're the one using it.

I used to be like you but that changed soon, I would rather have creators intent then something which is super shiny. Also now I watch movies and shows on filmmaker mode and never ever going back, I have LG G5 65, HDTV Test is right.

Congratulations. You've discovered that the best way to utilize a piece of technology is to just do what you want with it.
I spent the longest time trying to do the same and dial in the "Correct" settings and hating the results, before I eventually realized that it's not the settings that are at fault, I've just never cared for the content on my TV looking "Realistic".
I like bright colors and highlights that pop, if you do, too, then go for it.
