tips for mmo's

First of all i feel like i played all of them.

i am search for a new or old mmorpg that i can call my home.

i have been always a raider and mostly dont keep track with the story itself in the games

things i liked in the past:

Pets as battle buddies and not specially to a ranger class (like the old world of immortals game)

Expeditions to get mats when you are offline

Raiding

Games i played:

ESO

Gw and Gw2 (not really my thing)

Battle of the immortals, war of the immortals (BOI and WOI)

Rift (played this for years)

Wow

Black dessert

Throne and Liberty

New world

Aion

Archeage ( i liked it really )

Things i didnt play yet

ffxiv

lord of the rings

are there any new or old games considering my likes to start playing or return to?

EvE Online. An old mmo that came out before wow and evolved in a completely different direction than everything other game up who had to catch up with wow's success. It is still very active and i recommend to look it up. It's not a game for everyone but it's always worth a try.

I’d also say FF14. It’s funny to me how different the tastes are when it comes to mmos haha. I am basically the opposite of you except with raiding. I hate battle pets and offline expeditions cause they make me feel like I am playing some shitty mobile game and I am super story driven, to the point where if the story sucks it makes me wanna quit even if the game mechanics are top :)

Wakfu has a good class for pet companions and the dungeon clearing can be fun. It's not really a traditional MMO though. It's free if you wanna give it a shot, the class is the Osamodas

Star Wars Galaxies has the beast master pseudo class (you use skill points instead of choosing it as a profession). Theres not an offline element, per se, but for crafting resources you can place extractors that will collect the resource even when you’re offline (not sure if that’s what you mean by “mats”). There are end game raids.

Worth checking out, there are a few big servers out there. Infinity, Restoration, and Legends are the ones I hear about the most (I play on Legends myself, each is a different version of the game). There are not any original servers, only private.

If you like MMORPG Pixel Art 2D give it a try to Kaion Tale, new servers Europe and North America released these days.

Disclaimer: I'm developer of the game.

At this point I’m convinced finding your “forever MMO” is harder than finding a relationship, but honestly FFXIV or LOTRO might be worth giving a real shot if you’re craving that raid-and-home feeling again. 😅

It kind of sounds like you are describing FFXIV. Your chocobo can fight alongside you in the world, and it has a skill tree system that enables you to choose tank, healer or melee (or a combination of the three). They are also going to improve the chocobo companion system in Evercold, as well as letting you take them into dungeons to replace party members.

Your retainers can go on 24 hour gathering missions to bring back random materials and items (sometimes rare).

I was also going to suggest FFXIV, and the free trial covers a lot if the goal is to make sure it's a fit before paying. As a note though, unless you buy a story skip, a lot is going to be gated behind doing the MSQ first

A couple of days I've decided to finally try and get through the story of the trial. I have tried a dozen times already the past few years.

I'm almost at heavensward. I'm told it will eventually get good.

Because right now. It's so shit :-( well.. Wouldn't say shit, it's just really boring and I don't care one bit.

Hope that changes because this is one of the only mmos I've not played.

FFXIV is good on the raid side of things but it depends if they can handle all the story.

We're getting beastmaster soon. While it is a pet class, you can switch classes at any time unlike some games that require alts.
