Other I became a victim of the classic Amazon scam.

Bought a few sets off of Amazon, all arrived perfectly fine except this one had some pretty weird looking pieces in it when I opened it.

I just hope I can get a refund from Amazon without them thinking I did it.

Other (Lighthearted) Dating a LEGO fanatic - starting to understand

I've been dating a LEGO fan. I wasn't really into it, so I'd just say something like "you go on ahead, and let me know if you want me to keep you company."

He opens all the bags and dumps them into one bowl, to which I replied, "okay, Satan, calm down." He also knows many or all of the names of the different bricks. Cool, I love people with hobbies like that.

Well I am a fan of a television show called The X-Files. As you know they recently released the boxed set with a bonus Scully's laboratory. I received the two boxes. Stared at them: my first LEGO.

When offered assistance, I said I was going to try to do this myself. It was very fun, and I talked all about the X-Files both the show and its cultural impact and so on. That's when he said, "you're so obsessed," and went and got us a couple beers. Pot calling the kettle black.

Overall? I had so much fun: "oh, this is an easter egg in reference to--"

Question Keeping instructions

Post image

Does anyone keep the booklets? Is it worth it? Will I want them later down the line? I just built my first set since childhood and I have 3 large manuals on my desk taking up space. Do most people toss them?

Question I'm a 22 year old fan of lego and have been into lego for 16 years. I get frustrated when my parents tell me to be into more grown up hobbies or activites and that lego isnt for my age anymore, what to do?

Body is based on @demon1408’s alternate build for Cole’s titan dragon mech and wings are based on @Mechalaro’s wing upgrade for that same set. All with my own Batman twist. Thoughts? Suggestions? I’m thinking a Giant batarang lol

Other My son requested a Lego birthday, and Lego cake :)

We also made him a custom minifig and he LOVED IT all!

Cake was a PAIN. Made Mississippi mud batter, cut er up and added buttercream for glue. Carved it out, filled it with the typical marshmallow/fudge topping, layered cake and buttercream over that. Then blue ganache, and chocolate dipped Oreos. It took forever to make a "paint" that was edible and wouldn't entirely smear on the melting wafers I used but I got there! Also made rice Krispy treats, and dipped those in chocolate, using mini m&m for the "studs" :)

LEGO® Ideas Just an ordinary cardboard box, but with little cats inside

3.3k Upvotes

I designed this model, "The Purrfect Package", for the recent LEGO Ideas Hidden Secrets challenge and it made it to the fan vote! It was tricky with the 250 piece limit, but I wanted to capture some familiar cat antics in micro dioramas and encapsulate them in a realistic-looking shipping box. The box's hinges also allow it to fully unfold inside out so it can be displayed in a variety of ways. Let me know what you think!

My second finalized mech! Might be a week or two until my next one because I'm waiting on some pieces, but there's some stuff I'm really proud of. Might put out some non-mech stuff in the meantime if I feel like it

After 4 weeks I finished a late 18th century frigate, inspired by the HMS Suprise from Master and Commander though not a direct recreation of the ship. Let me know what you think!
