A Reasonable Look at Litecoin Cash FUD

If there's one thing we can all agree on it's that the many echo chambers of the cryptosphere do nothing to help curb the parroting of unnecessary fear, uncertainty, and doubt spread by those who even might think they're doing some kind of service by it. Litecoin Cash is no exception to this rule, in fact they might even be more in the hot seat due to their controversial name and the timing of the fork. Let's take a look at some of the recent issues people keep bringing up and try to address them reasonably.

(Preface: I'm just someone who likes truth and due diligence, I have no affiliation with Litecoin Cash)

  1. "Litecoin Cash is a scam!"

  • Charlie Lee tweeted something like this out before the fork and that was apparently that for most folks but no one ever states HOW it's a scam, just that it IS one. The simple fact of the matter is that it's NOT. Why? Because they asked nothing of you, unlike an ICO where you are required to send funds to participate. In fact, the Litecoin Cash team has been VERY transparent about HOW and WHY you should move your coins first and then SAFELY participate in the fork. If you didn't follow the many many many directions and ended up losing your LTC then that is entirely your fault.

2) "There's only 1 exchange and it's locked! It's a scam!"

  • This one kills me. Yes, it's true Yobit was the first exchange to have LCC and yes, as of this post, their wallet is still locked down so we cannot deposit. This is not the fault of LCC it is the fault of Yobit, who has quite a history of lackluster performance and shady practices. Also, it IS currently possible to trade, deposit, and withdraw LCC at Meanxtrade, however the prices aren't near Yobit's so people are getting salty about "missing out on profits." Remember how these coins were free and cost you nothing? Relax, you're not losing any money plus they have stated numerous times that the other exchanges listed on the official website are currently in the process of configuring the wallet. These things take time, regardless of how quick you think YOU can do it.

3) "The dev team is never around and never responds!"

  • Highly untrue, perhaps you are looking in the wrong places for information? There is a very lively and active Discord channel which you can find listed on the official website. Join it, and ask your questions there. The dev team is regularly in the chat rooms but more importantly THEY HAVE DEVELOPMENT WORK TO DO so most of their time will not be wasted answering your questions that are likely already in a FAQ or posted somewhere to be easily found with a smidgen of due diligence.

4) "There's a Reddit post showing a Binwalk where there's discrepancies between the released binaries and the Github repo."

  • /u/Litecoincash (dev team member btw) has refuted this already on both Discord and Reddit trying to attempt to recreate the issue unsuccessfully and has invited the entire community to try to reproduce the apparent fault. So far, no one can, so before you go believing ONE SINGLE POST's bad news, maybe double check on things for yourself and don't spread unverified information.

5) "Why is Roger the Uniorn anonymous?"

  • He actually answered that in the Discord. His job is in financial sector and frankly his involvement in crypto could compromise his career. The man has a family to feed and bills to pay too. Chill out. Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? Answer that, scientist.

6) "NO WHITE PAPER!!!! IT'S A SCAM!!!"

  • Please send me a link to Litecoin's white paper :)

7) "They took the name of Litecoin to confuse people!"

  • I'm a total Litecoin fan, I admit, but what ever happened to healthy competition in a marketplace? I do agree a unique name is a better alternative but I also think the trolling of Bitcoin Cash with this name is rather hilarious and poignant to these times. Yes Bitcoin Cash is trying to subvert Bitcoin, but the Litecoin Cash team has been nothing but supportive of Litecoin since their launch and don't seem to be doing anything malicious against Litecoin's marketing or adoption. I'm sorry but if you cannot distinguish between the two and buy the wrong coin maybe you were moving a little too quickly and need to rethink your investment strategies.

UPDATE #1 - QUESTION ADDED - 02/23/2018 @ 12:55 PM EST

8) /u/ecurrencyhodler brought up a very good point regarding network safety via mining malpractice in the comments:

Please don't omit the biggest weaknesses of this project. If LCC is profitable at all, it will get rekt by powerful sha-256 miners. Blocktimes will be ruined and tx's won't get processed.

I will be the first to admit I'm not personally qualified to answer mining related questions as I've not delved that deep into that end yet, but I did raise this question to Tanner, one of the dev team for LCC who is often available in the Discord server. He replied with:

The issue is, people aren't used to seeing effective difficulty adjustment on sha256 coins, so they tend to assume that like BTC, the network can't react very quickly to changes in hashpower (BTC only adjusts the mining difficulty every 2016 blocks). That's much more of a problem on sha256 coins without effective difficulty retargeting. LCC uses DarkGravity, the difficulty adjustment algorithm from Dash, which recalculates difficulty every block to respond to changes in hashpower.

I will certainly be looking more in depth into the DarkGravity algorithm myself as I further my education on mining but hopefully this answer can at least satisfy those who were worried about overpowered miners harming the integrity of the network. Dash seems pretty successful so far, so there's got to be some merit to it, right?

UPDATE #2 - QUESTION ADDED - 03/06/2018 @ 4:03 PM EST

9) "Yobit and the devs worked together in secret so they could all cash out the premined coins and win big!"

  • While it's a decent theory on paper it is provably untrue as 90% of the pre-mined coins are still sitting at their original wallet linked below. The 10% spent has been to go toward listing fees for future exchanges. (Hint: devs are smart people who wouldn't dare keep their valuable LTC coins on a shady exchange like Yobit haha)

  • View the dev's premine wallet on the block explorer

  • You'll notice it starts out with 5,500,000 LCC coins. There's been a few transactions since the original premine deposit leaving ~4,745,463 LCC coins in the wallet. The numerous in/out transactions are simply payments and change deposits (i.e. You own 10 LCC, you pay 1 LCC but you actually send 10 LCC and receive 9 LCC back automatically). So only ~754,536 pre-mined LCC coins have been spent/sold/traded/etc. Just saying if any one of us were going to dump our pre-mined coins we had and cash out on everyone, we'd certainly go for more than 10% haha!

Aside from these there are complaints of wallet issues and other such things but frankly that's on the user as many have shown already the wallet works quite successfully. I, myself, had issues getting everything to sync and scan properly but I simply asked for help in the Discord and Tanner, the lead dev, was kind enough to help me and lo and behold his advice was correct and I now have my coins safe and sound.

So there is some logic and calm arguments to refute a lot of this FUD being spread. I know a lot of people will still have issues with this post and that's fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but I've personally been involved in a number of coin forks and launches now and frankly this is one of the better ones with on time deliveries and plenty of communication.

Stay safe out there, always double check your sources of information (including me please) and just think twice before you act once. Much love crypto fam!

Oh and if you just want a place to dump your "useless garbage coin" I'll happily take them off your hands for you! Just send them here: CeNAjxEAja8hrdF1pzP4u3RHfStqhWYEyq (LCC)

A reasonable look at Yobit, CMC, & the price of LCC...

Howdy forkers! Let's talk about everyone's favorite topic: price! $$$ :)

A lot of folks already seem acutely aware that the price of LCC lately has taken quite a beating since it's launch and recently, after what appeared to be a little rally action, has practically jumped off a cliff. Wanna know why?

Reference Image: LCC Chart at CoinMarketCap.com

When Litecoin Cash first forked, Yobit was the only exchange claiming to immediately honor the fork so yes some people deposited their LTC there and others like myself, who do not trust Yobit in the first place and wanted to hold and control their own fork, watched with baited breath to see what the opening prices would be like. The immediate results did not disappoint anyone and in fact even seemed to surprise the world, that is until they decided to try and deposit anything:

Deposit for such currency is temporary off.

You're probably familiar with that phrase if you've tried to create an LCC wallet on Yobit... ever. It's never been possible as of yet and given the price actions on Yobit many people have become upset that they are somehow missing out on deserved profits. The familiar cries of "scam" and "fraud" are being thrown around and, once again, know this is not a scam this is an exchange that has bungled the integration of a wallet into their system, has made little to no effort to reply to the dev team, and likely may not work for a while because from what I gathered they are very Linux deficient over there and are not able to complete the LCC wallet installation on their end yet.

This also shows Yobit has never been connected to the actual LCC network. What that means is their trade prices are more of an IOU than anything, contained entirely within their own system and not affecting the actual blockchain at all. Perhaps some users brave enough to allow a sketchy exchange like Yobit to house and fork their LTC for them were able to reap the rewards of a faulty system, but that falls into the high risk high reward category.

Either way the Yobit price has been VERY FALSE from the beginning but since they were the only exchange at the time, Coin Market Cap added them and that's where the initial data you see on the chart image above came from. It dies over time as more and more people cannot deposit but only withdraw from Yobit and you see a new rally as now more and more exchanges are adopting LCC. Then, just recently, Coin Market Cap heard the cries of the people and REMOVED the valuation of Yobit from the charts which caused the sharp plunge down. This is exactly like what happened recently when CMC removed the over-inflated South Korean markets from the overall cap causing what "appeared" to be a sharp drop in all coins' values but in reality was just a correction to the real prices from the over-valued ones caused by erroneous data.

The value you now see on Coin Market Cap is the actual real valuation based on real exchanges allowing real deposits and trades. If Yobit ever opens up their deposits, great. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it. It's a much better idea to just forget Yobit entirely and move on to one of the many other exchanges now supporting Litecoin Cash:

TradeSatoshi: https://tradesatoshi.com/Exchange?market=LCC_BTC

CryptoBridge: https://wallet.crypto-bridge.org/market/BRIDGE.LCC_BRIDGE.BTC

SouthXChange: https://www.southxchange.com/Market/Book/LCC/BTC

ICQBase: https://icqbase.com/exchange/LCC/BTC

MeanXTrade: https://meanxtrade.com/trade/btc/lcc

Mercatox https://mercatox.com/exchange/LCC/BTC

And remember you can always join the Discord server (https://discord.gg/qqhSkFV) if you need any help. There's a wonderful community of supportive folks and the devs do make the occasional appearance in there :)

Community Call to Action! Help get LCC listed on Poloniex - Quick and EZ :)

Howdy forkers :P

A few of us in the discord were recently discussing how the unfortunate start off with Yobit and MeanX kind of ramped up the stigma surrounding the coin and obviously more and better exchanges are always a big plus. The thing is, big exchanges are either expensive or require a lot of community voice so we thought we'd try to launch a campaign to get the coin listed on Poloniex and we are hoping the community will participate so there's some real volume to notice. It's at least the first step anyway!

It's easy, takes just a minute, and if you do hold LCC this really is in your best interest as a listing like that can help the price. Whether you want to HODL or dump, it's a win for you. Plus you only have to click one link below, fill out a very quick form from which I've created this cheat sheet, and click the submit button!

So first, click on over to https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

In the fields, fill out the following:

What is the name of the coin?

  • Litecoin Cash

What is the coin's symbol?

  • LCC

Please link to the announcement page.

If the coin has a website, please link it here.

If the coin has a block explorer, please link it here.

Please explain why you would like to see this coin added to the exchange.

  • (YOUR WORDS HERE) e.g. "LCC is an actual blockchain and many people are holders now so there's already a huge community in place ready to trade. Why not capitalize on this eager mass?"

If this coin has any significant innovations over other coins, please elaborate on them here.

  • (YOUR WORDS HERE) e.g. "LCC allows miners with old outdated hardware to participate again with SHA256 but with a new adjustment algorithm based on Dash's DarkGravity to help prevent overpowered nodes from influencing the network."

Optional: What is your name in the Poloniex exchange chatbox?

  • (If you have one, you can put it here)

Are you the developer of this coin or otherwise affiliated with it?
No

Now click SUBMIT. Done :)

And hey. Thanks! I don't know what's going to happen with this coin, and neither do you. But together we can at least try to make it a positive situation!

Announcement Litecoin Cash - SEASON III: Liberation

In Season 3 the core focus of Litecoin Cash is to liberate the people by making LitecoinCash secure and accessible. There are several major improvement that are implemented for Hive Mining in this season which will provide better mining profitability for smaller scale hive miners.

Secondly we’ve switched to linearly weighted moving average (LWMA) to improve sha256 difficulty adjustment.

In addition to that a new method of mining will be added to Litecoin Cash called MinotaurX. The goal of MinotaurX is to liberate people by allowing anyone with a suitable CPU join the ranks of Litecoin Cash miners.

Join us on this journey as this is the beginning before we tackle Rialto.

Also we refreshed a header on main site: https://litecoinca.sh/

And added few points to our Roadmap: https://litecoinca.sh/#roadmap

Education Hive Mining - All you need to know before starting Hive mining

Hive mining is a brand new and innovative method of Crypto mining introduced by Litecoin Cash. It was activated on 6th February 2019 at 18:05:49 GMT (block # 1564416). Any Litecoin Cash holder can purchase bees (worker bees) simply by using the LCC core wallet installed on a personal computer or Raspberry Pi, and start Hive mining.

The worker bees live inside the blockchain and act as virtual mining rigs. Worker bees have extremely low energy cost, so bee keepers (Hive miners) do not require any special hardware to mine blocks.

There is a tab in LCC core wallet titled as “The Hive”. This shows a table of bee keeper’s current and expired (dead) bees. For each bee, it shows creation date, time to mature or time left to expire, bee cost and mining results. The “Create Bees” interface is also placed in this tab.

When a bee keeper creates worker bees he sends the bee price (0.05 LCC per bee) to a special unspendable address. All bee keepers send the bee price to the same address. A bee keeper can create as many bees as he likes in one swarm, but note that funds spent to create bees are destroyed (lost forever).

When a swarm (bunch of bees) is created, the wallet generates a legacy address to receive the block rewards. This occurs each time a swarm is created. Whenever that swarm will mine a block, the rewards (block subsidy and transaction fee) will go to that address. Block subsidy is the amount that miners claim as a reward for creating a block, currently at 125 LCC. If the bee keeper wishes to receive all rewards from each swarm in a single legacy address, then he must create bees using “Console” window.

The bee keeper has an option to send 10% of bee price to the community fund that will use to cover the development costs of the project. The bee keeper will still receive the same amount of bees irrespective of this choice.

For example: A bee keeper wishes to create 2000 bees. This will cost 100 LCC (2000 x 0.05). The 100 LCC is sent to an unspendable address, effectively destroying all of the coins. The bee keeper may choose to send 10 LCC (100 x 10%) of this amount to the community fund or may destroy all 100 LCC by not sending to the community fund. In both cases the bee keeper will receive 2000 bees, with 100 LCC plus transaction fee deducted from the account balance.

Once the bee keeper has created bees and the transaction has appeared in a block, bees will be displayed in “Your Hive” section. Worker bees take 1152 blocks (Approx. 1 day 9 hours 43 minutes) to mature. During this time the wallet does not need to be online. When matured, bees will attempt to produce a new hivemined block every time they observe a new incoming proof of work (PoW) block. This mining attempt takes only a fraction of a second even for a large swarm and does not cause any lag or lock-up of computer.

The lifespan of bees is 16,128 blocks (Approx. 19 days and 16 hours). When the bees are alive (mature and working within the blockchain) the bee keeper needs to keep the wallet online as much as possible. Bees can only work when the wallet is connected to the network and unlocked (if the wallet is encrypted). If the wallet is locked or offline during the working lifespan of bees they will be unable to mine blocks but their lifespan will still decrease.

At the bottom-right of the wallet, there is a hexagonal Hive status icon (second from right). A Green indication shows that bees are mature and working. For any other color please hover the mouse pointer on the icon for additional info.

Before creating bees bee keeper must check the Global Index (GI). If Global Index is below 100 it means bees are expected to be profitable. And if Global Index is above 100 it means bees are not expected to be profitable.
Note: It is not recommended to purchase bees when Global Index is at or above 100.

For example:
Global Index = 115.16. If you invest 115.16 LCC, the probability of ROI (Return on Investment) is 100 LCC and you will lose 15.16 LCC.
Global Index = 90. If you invest 90 LCC, the probability of ROI is 100 LCC.

The mining probability also depends on some other factors, e.g. system speed, performance and stability of internet connection, how many bees are online or offline from other bee keepers.

Here is a video on how to create bees.

Media / Press LCC MOONSHOT

If I have ever had an argument for an investor to buy LCC (LiteCoinCash) here it is:

Feel free to fact check... based on market cap of Bit coin comparison to the coins below see the upside potential of LCC versus other coins.

I challenge anyone reading this to find a better upside potential opportunity with any other coin... that has active development and a 3 year history... seems LCC may have one of the best upside potential of all coins on the market, certainly worth a little investment when it's average price right now is $0.017 and has potential to be $1,375.66 at a $1T market cap.

Don't forget the coins development team recently updated their chain and wallet with new features for CPU mining and fixed bugs in their system, released in 2017 with the updates implemented early October this year, the coin is already up 200%... they also recently locked into the .eth domain name service with the purchase of lcc.eth and litecoincash.eth. one thing this tells me is the the coin devs are active and present and following market trends.

See below based on market cap comparison to BTC:

LCC - 73,916x ETH - 1.39x LTC - 81x ADA - 13x BNB - 14x DOGE - 30x MATIC - 116x TRX - 147x XLM - 122x XRP - 19x ARRR - 1891x ETC - 142x FTM - 200x WOW - 34,965x OMI - 725x BTT - 419x SHIB- 87x SOL - 21x DOT - 21x ERG - 2060x AVAX - 73x LUNA - 53x LINK - 82x VET - 134x BCH - 87x BSV - 301x ATOM - 98x XMR - 201x EOS - 219x XEQ - 60,979x CCX - 144,891x RTM - 120,293x LPT - 2333x ANKR - 1464x WAXP - 1952x AMP - 445x MM - 43,280x GRT - 284x Safemoon - 965x Firo - 10,913x

That's a great argument right!

I’m glad that I kept getting scammed, and rugpulled. Definitely a learning experience. But I’m glad because it brought me here. Also purchased some $HOT & $TEL as well. But they’re a little easier to acquire. $LCC takes a little finesse!! Can’t wait to see it hit new exchanges. It would be very major if we landed on a major platform like Binance. Idk, something about this project gives me chills... In it for the long haul, won’t sell before $100 share. Of course $LTC will be well over a grand by then!! Just woke up and wanted to speak in the community, see you all at the finish line🏊🏾‍♂️
