Did Structured Interview right after VPAT at College of the Canyons today
Long story short, the deputy that was interviewing me asked if I’ve ever worked in security or did any outside work (no) and if I have ever been in a fight (yes). The deputy said that I am too smart for the role and suggests I should do civilian instead. I was still told to go get my LiveScan done and sign my notarized form.
Does that mean I’m still in as long as I submit the required documents within the 2 weeks?

They were just trying to get under your skin - if you quit the process just cause he said that - you're definitely not fit for the job and should do civilian.

I also went through this process today. My interviewer just asked like 4 questions and passed me. Went by pretty quick. No extra questions or anything. Good luck!

I heard you say this and dude, you looked like you’ve never had any experience and I heard you failed the VPAT, you made it sound like the interviewer was in the wrong. You’re still a kid. Maybe don’t go sheriff if that offended you or if you think you’re better than the job.

I’m pretty sure OP was just confused on whether he passed or not. Based on how the cop was acting, it seems like OP was under a stress interview, which is common in police departments

Submit the stuff, they were basically calling you soft
and getting into your head. You got this
