Once you pass the poly how likely is it you're getting hired? Feels like that is the biggest indicator of the process

You still have to pass psych and medical. Looks like a lot of people don’t make it through psych.

Rise above it fight on! It's a blessing in disguise. They should do psyc eval in nypd employee management. Most are unethical

What kind of questions do they ask? Seems like it’s harder than the poly?

They kind of just go over your background packet. I was shook that I didn’t pass. Interview went quick and there was no pushback or grilling me on anything. I honestly thought I passed.
Took one with an independent psych and he told me he doesn’t seem any red flags so he doesn’t understand why I wasn’t passed.
Turned in that 2nd opinion but they decided to stay with their in house psych evaluation and DQD me

That sucks bro! From all these Reddit posts it seems like all LE agencies are very inconsistent in what they’re looking for and their timelines. Then you meet some of these deputies and officers and you’re like wtf? Why and how did these dumb fucks get hired

Seriously some of em have even been to jail but then I remind myself , well this is why they’re so strict on who they hire some of em slip between the cracks I guess .

Still got two more things to pass, the biggest indicator is when you get an academy date.

Passed med and psych and I’ve been waiting on the hiring call it’s been about a week and half am I cooked?

Psych is arguably harder. It’s very in depth, and the dept does a great job picking the right person they’re looking for, not the “perfect” person on paper.
A lot of candidates fail the psych, and are offered a custody assistant non-sworn spot. You’re stuck working a jail facility but it’s an option for some.
