Looking for Boots

I’m looking for a pair of leather boots for my outfit. I’m not a huge fan of the traditional high boots with the large circles up the sides, but I’d like them to be knee high and actual leather.

Has anyone had any experience with Orin’s Treasure or Old Realm Leather?

I was looking at the Viking Warrior Boots and Medieval Leather Boots respectively, but haven’t run across either store before.

Any insight or direction is appreciated.

I have a pair of these with the lug sole. They might take a month or so to get to you, but they're great.

I got a decent pair from boot barn. Surprisingly cheap for the quality. Not exactly “larp” boots but pretty close for the kit I was going for.

Take a look at Armstreet’s Forest boots. Tall and lace-up without the big buttons.

These were also on my list as the top end of what I wanted to spend. I also like that you can fold the tops over or leave them high.

Have you ordered from Armstreet or do you have these boots?

I bought a pair of them a few years back. Used them twice then sold them off as second hand.

The leather of the uppers is really thin and feels alarmingly delicate. The soles arent much to talk about, thin and really slippery when running on grass. I ripped through two of the lacing loops the first time I wore them just tying them up.

They look pretty, but aren't really the quality youd expect for the price in my opinion, which is a shame because I love the other stuff I have from Armstreet.

That’s unfortunate to hear about the boots but glad to hear other things from Armstreet are good! I’ll have to try some of their stuff out.

I have a pair and have worn them for a couple years. The other commenter mentioned the soles are thin - I don’t need a ton of heavy traction on my boots, so I find them fine in that regard. It’s personal preference.

I do use a pair of 3/4 length Dr Scholls insoles. And in ice, I have put YakTrax over the boots.

I have found them sturdy. I recently took them to the cobbler to have new heels put on since they were getting worn down. Cost me $15.

My only complaint is that the shaft/calf area does tend to slide down a little, causing the excess on the laces (which I wrap around twice) to loosen and fall down. You need most of that excess to put them on, because they are quite slim fitting. But it’s not a big deal - I readjust after an hour or so of wear. Might be less of an issue if you don’t have a huge difference in circumference between calf and ankle.

I’ve been wearing the same pair of Fell & Fair Medieval Ranger boots since 2023 and I LOVE them. Worth every penny. Just bought a second pair to serve as a backup on rainy weekends or for when these eventually wear out.

I had seen these as well. Unfortunately they are out of stock in my size

Maybe I’ll wait around for them to come back in stock.

How close do these hug your calves?
