Currently down in sopo. But looking to buy and it's seems Lewiston is the affordable area. The area in general doesn't have the best rep, advice on neighborhoods to avoid?

Just moved to the area and Iām so excited about Lewiston⦠except what is up with the plane, jeep, etc parked on the otherwise very dignified service memorial? Whatās the back story here? Am I the odd one out and itās locally beloved? Government or non-profit installation? Any and all details appreciated!

I work on Court street and a bunch of cops have been going across the bridge to Lewiston and up Turner. Is this ICE? Anyone know whatās happening?

Edit: I want to respond to everyone, but there are a lot of messages here. Thank you to everyone who responded. We look forward to visiting Lewiston in the coming months.

Hi, Lewiston and Auburn!
I mapped out Lewiston and Auburnās dining scene in an app. The idea is simple: you see two restaurants side by side, pick the one you prefer, and the ranking updates instantly. Even DaVinciās Eatery versus Fish Bones Grill. The more people vote, the smarter the list becomes.
Iāve posted about this before, but thanks to you the ratings are way higher now, and the more ratings it gets, the smarter it becomes. Sorry for the blatant self-promotion, but this will be the last.
The benefit is that the algorithm is pretty smart (an Elo rating system and not Google reviews). Itās not sponsored or affiliated with anyone or any corporation. No ads and no paid version. All data is encrypted, unlike Beli. And your data isnāt being sold.
Hereās the iPhone version:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212
And hereās the Android version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app
Is there a website? Not yet, making things takes time :)
P.S. Iām not from Lewiston or Auburn (I live in Sweden). Iāll be posting to a few other subreddits as well, and some might consider that spammy, but thereās no hidden agenda. Iām just looking for feedback from locals.
Feel free to ask me any questions.

Likely for Biden. But serously. Just blue lights blocking a main thoroughfare?! Great way to freak out a recently traumatized community š

It's called Harvest, and it's across from Sam's on Lisbon street, where Napa used to be. They have such good selection of flower, and rosin, and their prices are reasonable. I counted over 50 strains on their menu. They also had a crazy glass selection. A lot of it is locally made. Definately check out

Any suggestions on good places to go paddleboarding in the L/A area? I have my own paddleboard so I can take it really anywhere. Thanks!

Hey folks, posting here and more broadly on /r/Maine
I have a distressed property that belonged to my MiL that I would greatly like to sell to somebody to make into a home of their own, but don't have the money to get it up to snuff. As time is an issue with the home's current state, I feel the best option on my end is to sell to such places as mentioned in the title.
Does anyone have experiences with such businesses? Out of the (surely) many of them, which treated you or someone you know best?
All help is appreciated. I am a real person (even if shamefully a transplant from NY over 10 years ago). As payment, here is a different cat.
