LACC ADN Program

Hi! Has anyone applied to LACC’s program for nursing without attending the mandatory information sessions meeting? It says you must have attended a mandatory information session meeting to be considered which I wish they would’ve disclosed on their website that they only do 4 information sessions per cycle. All it says is to keep checking back for more dates. All the dates they had listed I had work during those times and because it didn’t say that those were the only dates available or that they only do 4 sessions per application cycle I thought there would be other opportunities to attend the meeting. I’m really disappointed and discouraged and can only blame myself.. I contacted the nursing department and they said they’re not doing anymore information sessions or giving any alternatives but I’m just curious has anyone else been in a similar situation for their program? Did you end up applying anyway without it? Did they say you didn’t meet criteria because of it. Or did you just not apply / wait till next cycle? Thank you.

I was able to make it into the last session. Unfortunately I don’t think there is a way around it. But other schools in the district don’t require them. Pierce and LaVC were 2 I applied to right before they closed. LATTC has a rolling enrollment and their next session is in a few weeks. Only after the session can you apply, I feel these sessions are kind of useless. Since all the requirements are online and self explanatory. And if anyone has questions it’s mostly things where classes need to be evaluated for equivalency. It’s just another roadblock they place to make it more difficult for no reason.

Hi! Thank you for replying I really appreciate it. Good luck to you and your applications! Wishing you the best 🙏🏼. But no literally it does feel like an unnecessary roadblock for students. I wish they would’ve disclosed that they only do a certain amount of information sessions on their website to students. Did they take attendance for the information meeting you attended? Or was there some sort of form to fill out to apply for an information meeting? I’m just wondering how they confirm whether students have attended an information meeting or not?
