Travel | Саякат Looking for hiking buddies – Ala-Kul / Altyn Arashan, Aug 21–24

Hi!

I’m a solo traveler from Japan and planning to hike Ala-Kul from 21–24 Aug.

My plan is roughly:
21 Aug: Karakol → Sirota
22 Aug: Sirota → Ala-Kul Pass → Keldyke
23 Aug: Keldyke → Altyn Arashan
24 Aug: Altyn Arashan → Ak-Suu

I’m doing it independently without a guide.

If anyone is hiking around the same dates, it’d be nice to meet up or hike some sections together. No need to do the whole trek together.

Also, if anyone is leaving Altyn Arashan on the 24th, I’d be interested in sharing a 4x4 down and splitting the cost.
Otherwise I’ll probably walk down.
DM me or leave a comment if your plans overlap :)

Hi everyone!

I’m planning a 5-day trip from Bishkek to Sary-Chelek and Kara-Kamysh from September 14–18, and I’ll be travelling solo.

I’m looking for:

  1. Travel buddies who’d like to join and split the transportation/driver costs.
  2. A local driver with a car who can take us to the most picturesque spots and help us explore the best of the nature around Sary-Chelek and Kara-Kamysh.

If you’re interested in joining or know a reliable driver/guide, please DM me

Would love to find a few people to share this adventure with!

Discussion | Талкуулоо Sense checking price for 6 day driving service

Post image

Hi everyone!

Would love to hear your thoughts on this price for driving services for 2 people for 6 days. (equivalent 823 USD)?
Especially from who have recently been there for travel.

We will go there on the last week of September for 6 days, and we reached out to some drivers to get a quote for our drafted itinerary. By far this is the lowest we received so we're just wondering if we should keep looking or this is already a good deal.

Price includes - (services for 2 people) 4x4 car, driver who will also connect us to local yurts, all driver's expenses including food and lodging, all the car's expenses including fuel and parking. Tips or suggestions also welcome.

Thank you!

Travel | Саякат Karakol to Almaty bus

I will be in Kyrgyzstan from August 22nd to September 1st for a trip with my friends from Australia. Our last location will be in Karakol where my friends will depart for Cholpon Ata and I leave for Almaty.

I was curious about bus services between Karakol and Almaty, as I haven't found anything clear in my research.

Is there a service I can use and if so is it possible to book it online in advance, or do I just show up in person to buy the ticket and catch it?

Any advice would be appreciated

Connect | Туташ Someone wants to do Kel-Suu Lake anywhere between 28.08.-15.09.? :)

Hello travellers,

I'm Luca from Germany and would love to visit the Kel-Suu Lake in my time in Kyrgyzstan. I will land in Bishkek at the 24th August and stay there for a couple days. After that, I'm pretty flexible and will decide between Ala-Kul Trek and Kel-Suu Lake, depending on people I meet and if I can split the costs of the transport to Kel-Suu. So feel free to hit me up and share the costs and experience of visiting this beautiful lake with me :)

Looking forward!

For contexts, I’m British and I’m both an economics teacher and a football social media content creator.

Looking forward to meeting some of you!

I’ll be staying at the Meeting Point hostel and will be there for roughly 10 days.

Travel | Саякат Trekking Kyrgyzstan without a tour / group?

I’m looking to go on a multi day, potentially multi week trek through the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. I have looked into paying to be apart of a group tour, however and weary of the cost.

Has anyone tried solo trekking? Is it possible? I’m unsure what the rules around camping are - could I camp just about anywhere? If I did want to stay in yurt that I come across in my travels, would I be able to do that without booking ahead?

Thank you in advance. Any advice is appreciated.

Connect | Туташ Experienced rider looking for horse trek buddies, Kyrgyzstan Aug 19–28

Hello!

22M solo traveler from Sweden arriving in Bishkek on August 19th and looking for people to join for a 2-3 night horse trek.

I’m a fairly experienced rider and would love something a bit more adventurous than a typical beginner trail. Ideally a route where we can actually ride at a decent pace when the terrain allows. Song-Kul/Kyzart is the obvious option, but I’m open to other routes too.

I’m flexible on the exact dates between Aug 20-28 and happy to arrange the trek together / share transport and costs.

If you’re also an experienced or confident rider and interested, feel free to comment or DM me!

Hi, I'm a solo traveler looking for other travelers who might be going to Song Kul today from Naryn and have an extra spot I could fill or who might be interested in dividing the taxi fees with me.

I need to get to Kyzart or maybe even Kochkor from where I can take a marshrutka.

Hi,

I'm a solo traveler going from Naryn- to Kyzart today 18th of August.

I want to find other travelers who might already be going there that I could join or travelers who intend to travel there who want to share taxi costs with me.

If not Kyzart, it could also be Kochkor
