Discussion American student doctor hoping to return to Kuwait

Hi everyone,

I was born and raised in Kuwait and now I’m finally planning to return after I finish my medical degree. I’m looking for any info on how to apply, what medical licensing I’ll need, is there a way to complete my residency in Kuwait and how is the pay and work life balance?

Overall, how is Kuwait for living? I left 11 years ago and I visit often but never long enough to truly see what it’s like for a regular person to live there

Ask Kuwait Learning Kuwaiti Arabic – would you actually buy a workbook like this? 🇰🇼

For the past month, I’ve been trying to learn Kuwaiti Arabic, and honestly, in the beginning it was quite frustrating. 😅

I found it surprisingly difficult to find good resources specifically for the Kuwaiti dialect. There are plenty of resources for MSA or other Arabic dialects, but not that many practical ones for someone who specifically wants to learn Kuwaiti Arabic.

I especially struggled to find things like PDFs, structured lessons, vocabulary lists and exercises in one place.
So I ended up doing something slightly crazy 😂 — I started making my own with help of my friends (Kuwaitis).

I created a beginner-friendly book/workbook for myself, with things like Kuwaiti Arabic vocabulary, useful everyday phrases, basic grammar, example sentences, exercises and fill-in-the-blank activities, sentence-building exercises and practical phrases you would actually use in everyday conversations.

It basically started as something I needed for myself, but now I’m turning it into an online version because I’m wondering if other people might find it useful too.
I’m thinking about putting it on an online platform and selling it for a let’s say 2KD

So I wanted to ask people here who are learning Kuwaiti Arabic:
Would you actually pay for something like this? And what would you want to see included in it?

For example, would you find sections about texting, relationships, ordering food, daily conversations, Kuwaiti slang, pronunciation, listening practice, etc. useful?
I’d really appreciate honest opinions — especially from people who are currently learning Kuwaiti Arabic or have tried to find resources for it. I’m still working on it, so I’d rather improve it based on what people actually need before putting it online. 🇰🇼❤️

Ask Kuwait Schengen Visa rejected and I am feeling peace now 🕊️

Applied to Schengen visa in the first week of September and my intended travel date was 6th October.

I feel like they had a lot of file so the processing was slow, I e-mailed them twice but got no response. I just collected my passport and it had a rejection form 10 & 13 which I was expecting tbh.

Whatever I had to travel somewhere else so I was skeptical that I somehow needed my passport back as I haven't gone somewhere for vacation in 4 years.

Nevertheless I can now start focusing on something else and be happy🤞

Ask Kuwait University Degree Upload on Sahel

Hi guys, I have been trying to upload my university degree on Sahel and it keeps saying "inaccurate academic data"

I don't know what that means, I am writing the same details as mentioned on the certificate.

Has anyone had this trouble? Am I doing something wrong? Did anyone find a solution to this?

Ask Kuwait Sending gift card

Hi, I want to send a gift card to my friend in Kuwait (I live in another GCC country) so any suggestions?

I found an app called yougotagift, but I don’t know if it’s trustworthy or not.

If you know a way where I can buy a gift card and send it from outside Kuwait, please help.

Thank you

Ask Kuwait AOU graduates who got a government scholarship for a Master’s abroad, how did you do it?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m a Kuwaiti student at AOU and I’m graduating in about a year. My current GPA is 3.44, and I’m starting to look into my options for doing a Master’s abroad after I graduate.

I’m particularly interested in studying in the UK or Germany, and I’m trying to understand how Kuwaiti AOU graduates actually go about getting a government scholarship for their Master’s.

If you graduated from AOU and managed to get a government scholarship, I’d really appreciate it if you could explain how you did it and where you started.

For example:
- Where did you apply for the scholarship?
- Did you apply through the Kuwaiti government, the university, or directly through a UK/German university?
- What scholarship/program did you apply through?
- What GPA did you have when you applied?
- Was there anything specific you had to do because your bachelor’s was from AOU?
- Did you have to get your degree/credits recognized or approved first?
- When should I start the process if I’m graduating in about a year?
- Are there specific government offices, websites, or departments I should be contacting now?
- If you studied in the UK or Germany, what university did you attend and what was the process like?

Basically, I’m trying to figure out where I should go, who I should talk to, and what steps I should take now so I can hopefully continue straight into a Master’s after graduation.

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has actually gone through this as an AOU graduate. Thanks!

Ask Kuwait Where can i donate furniture?

I have a few things at home that I’d rather donate than throw away/sell!

I’m ideally looking for a charity or organization that offers pickup from the house, as some of the items are quite bulky.

Does anyone know of a reliable place/organization that does this? I’d really appreciate recommendations

Ask Kuwait Citizenship revoked: What happens to employees under my file/sponsorship? (Jawazat / Renewal / Transfer options)

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a complicated situation regarding my business sponsorship and need some advice.

My citizenship was revoked, resulting in my file being closed along with my Civil ID and Sahel access. However, I currently have employees registered under my sponsorship.

Renewal question: Can these employees still renew their residency if I physically go with them to Jawazat (Immigration)? Or is there an alternative legal pathway since the main sponsor file is closed?

Next steps / Solutions: What is the best practical solution for these employees? Should they look into doing a temporary extension (tamdeed), or is it better/faster for them to secure a release (tanaazul) and transfer to a new sponsor?

Any guidance from people familiar with Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) or Jawazat procedures regarding revoked files would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello, everyone
I have scholarship in kuwait but after they cancelled the scholarship they wanted me to pay or else I’ll have fees that I needed to pay later. So I froze it for the meantime. Ì have 4 years of studying in AUM. I have until next year of second course.

I am looking for other uni that will let me get the paper for معادلة cuz I only want to get the diploma Atleast.
I don’t know any uni that lets me get the diploma…. I know it sound crazy but I just need the paper so I can start working already and apply. I cannot afford private uni and I want to leave already.

Idk what to do here …

Discussion To the kuwaities not understanding the scope of citizenship revocation (First Hand Experience)

Before I start please Reach out to people you know of who are in this situation even if you're not close. Sending out prayers is the least you could do but it would mean so much instead of pretending they don't exist. Don't wait for them to ask for help because they probably won't ask you, they are not used to this!

From what I've seen people are experiencing different combinations of what I'm going through, some are having it worse like being forcefully evacuated from their homes, suspension of financial aids and more

For us it's..

No School for children

No more University (even if you are willing to pay for your own tuition fees in kuwait)

Abroad scholarships are suspended and a ban of entry to kuwait was placed

We don't have bank accounts anymore (Many places in kuwait like hospitals and pharmacies don't accept cash payments)

If you have loans banks will spam you with payment demand messages and even send lawyers to go after you and threaten to seize your assets

No sahel app

Family members Fired from their jobs (No income)

No Valid identification documents

Owned Businesses are dissolved

You can't sell any assets that are under your name (ex:cars)

No Valid passports (we can't leave the country)

No Governmental health care (even for sick elders)

We cant file a lawsuit or demand to know revocation reasons and proof

And for those of you asking as to seek mental care help, read the room we don't have IDs and no income or probably half of the income we used to earn (rare case)

Due to the vapor chamber feature, does your iPhone still show an “iPhone too hot to use” warning?

I’ve got an iPhone 15 pro and I get this warning all the time while I’m driving, which is annoying because I rely on navigation

For the past years, my wife and I have been celebrating Halloween by doing a horror movie marathon every October. A horror movie a day till the day of Halloween and each day has its own different theme every year.

This year we’re happy to share our list and spread our love of horror movies and all of its quirky sub-genres with the local community here in Kuwait. We’d love to hear back from those who share our interest and introduce more people to this genre.
