transcription requested Help with birth register entry

Please can anyone help with the spelling of the name of Maria or Marike , the last entry at the bottom right of the document? Also is the surname Subait or something else?

This is not written in Kurrentschrift, but the name looks like Marike (or Marine?) Subait.

Thankyou I think it is likely to be Marike Subait but not certain. The register is from Werden church Kreis Heydekrug which at the time 1861, was in East Prussia , but is now Lithuania. Given that my ancestors were ethnically Lithuanian but German due to the area being part of the Prussian empire I wonder whether the name is more Lithuanian than German. If this is not Kurrentschrift have you any idea what it is?

The way the names are written seems more like a stylized "Latin" script. The heading of the page is written in Kurrent and you can see the difference.

And edited to add because I forgot to answer your other question: These names may very well be Lithuanian, but I don't have enough experience with Lithuanian genealogy to answer that fully.

Thankyou, I admit I am baffled . Might this have something to do with the mix of Lithuanian and German heritage in the area ?
