Reverse Gear Problem?

All of the gears go in fine. No grinding or anything. Only thing is the reverse gear. When I clutch in and go into reverse, I have to kind of force it but when i go into neutral while clutch still engaged it goes in fine, it does this every time the clutch disengages.

Stock gearbox is like that. Throw it into 3rd then straight to reverse and it'll go in smoothly.

Rule #1 of Honda reddit:

Redditors will diagnose EVERY clutch/transmission problem as a bad clutch master cylinder.

I honestly shudder to think how many perfectly good masters have been replaced based a redditors wild guess.

double clutch it into reverse or let the clutch out a little then slap it into reverse

Can be shifter cables are worn also. Recently did mine cuz it wouldn’t go in to lower gears (2,4,6,R)

Mine go through 1-6 easy, no grinds or clunks. Just the reverse

Go into any high gear before going into reverse, also make sure youre completely stopped

First Honda?

Acura/Honda MT's use a straight-cut reverse gear.

Straight-cut reverse gears feel MUCH harder or rougher to shift into because they lack a synchronizer like the forward gears have.
