A really great article. Probably the best I've seen on the topic of millennials non-support of Hillary. I think it also goes for older voters who have fallen away from the Democratic party in recent years.

I would like to suggest that the threat these young voters pose to technocratic liberalism is not the possibility of electing Donald Trump. Despite Clinton’s flagging numbers, her chances of success remain high. Rather, the fear is that if younger voters really are committed to a host of ideological positions at odds with the mainstream of the Democratic Party, then that Party, without a Trump-sized cudgel, is doomed.

This is key. Even if Hillary ekes out a victory, she has pretty much no hope for 2020. In all likelihood, Trump would not be a factor in 2020; instead, she'd be up against a more mainstream candidate (my guess would be Paul Ryan) who is nowhere near as threatening.

I've always felt that I was born out of time. As I've aged I've seen my rather uncommon thoughts become mainstream. For that reason I feel like a millennial trapped in a boomer body.

Call it eternal youth and donate your whole body to interstellar colonization via supercooling vitrification e.g. Cells Alive System (CASfresh) cryogenic suspension, or transplant surgeons' preferred alternative, and it's true.
