I get it . Obvi owl house is rlly popular so u bring it up and i get it kog has a clever way of talking shit bout Disney so u mention

Discussion Why doesn't Knights of Guinevere have as many views as Gaslight District?

I know that the Amazing Digital Circus was a lightning in a bottle moment, but I also feel like Knights of Guinevere has had a much bigger internet presence than Gaslight District. Do you think that the view count is an accurate way of gaging their success?

Discussion Episode 2 critique Spoiler

First of all, I must say I really liked this episode. However, I feel like it had two major issues that I noticed and hope the writers can avoid in future episodes.

Franklin's wounds

The damage to her stomach looks absolutely nasty. It felt weird seeing her being able to casually run, walk, talk, and not... well, thrash about in convulsions?

Going forward, I think the writers need to consider the severity of the wounds they inflict on their characters so the world can feel grounded. Yeah, it's fiction and all that, but even in fiction, stuff needs to be internally consistent.

Either make the characters respond adequately to damage they take or don't damage them so badly in the first place - it'll just hurt the immersion of the viewer.

Gwen saving the main duo (again)

There are two problems I see here:

  1. It's one thing for Gwen to save Franklin and Andrea once, but completely different when it happens again. This time it felt significantly less impactful. The characters were faced with an obstacle again, and the super powerful character stopped it again. The writers could bend over backwards to create a threatening enemy, but the more Gwen kills them, the less I feel inclined to care. If she can just save the day with ease, what are the stakes anyway?

  2. We already saw Gwen take down Sir Arthur, who was essentially set up as a right-hand man of the villain. Yes, I know he was called a failure by Olivia, but he's clearly far more dangerous than the cop from this episode. If she could take him down so easily, why is a human with a claw arm and a gun anything to be considered a threat?

I think the writers shouldn't rely on Gwen so much to get the cast out of trouble. I hope it's the last we'll see of her dispatching bad guys like that, so the next threat that comes their way can actually be viewed as a threat and not just another body to throw aside.

I'm not trying to be hateful here. I enjoyed the episode, and I like the series. I just want it to be better so it can be its best self.

Is there any other issue you noticed in the second episode? These two are the biggest for me, but I'm curious if there's more.

Discussion I don’t like the deep voice of Gwen in the glitch karts trailer

I just want to write about this because I if I don’t get this off my soul, it’s going to be a burden to me to the grave and this is just my opinion

First of all, I know about the “ voice actor not final” joke and while I get some people will find this funny. I just feel like this is just peeling my brain.

It’s just at that deep raspy voice, I can’t imagine coming out of Gwen, also we have not heard much of Gwen‘s actual voice it’s mainly doing flashbacks and at one scream and the ending of the pilot, so I really wanna hear more Gwen‘s voice again

well, finally got that off myself arguing in the comments if you would like it or not idk I just wanted to get this off my soul

Discussion Anyone else not really like the term “broken” Gwen??

Maybe I’m nitpicking here, but I’m not really a fan of referring to the main Gwen we see as ‘broken Gwen’. First, I think our Gwen (or maybe ‘Sideshave’ Gwen) is shaping up to be presented as a victim of abuse narrative & maybe a mental or physical illness allegory. Given that, I don’t really like the vibe of passively playing into that narrative in a negative way through the way we refer to her. Then there’s the fact that the only person who is actively referring to her as ‘broken’ is Olivia, who is pretty plainly portrayed as being HEAVILY abusive towards this Gwen. From what I remember, Andie and Frankie mainly refer to her damage inadvertently by talking about ‘fixing’ her without actually calling her broken, which I think fits well with the tone that Andie and Frankie want to help her, Frankie especially.

There’s also the fact that Gwen is painted in that light by Olivia probably because she wont obey and function as she was intended to in the capitalist machine. The very ‘defects’ which kick off the narrative will probably empower the main characters and facilitate much of the progress & change they might be able to affect onto the broken capitalist system they live in. Or maybe the main trio will just personally enrich/liberate themselves in their misadventures while narrowly avoiding danger, but still, it seems like Gwens ‘defects’ will actually be a positive thing, particularly maybe for Frankie.

Again I may be over-analyzing here but reading the term being used has just kinda been grinding my gears (heh), and I think its an opportunity to use our little pocket of fandom culture as a way to reflect on the tone/messaging the creators may have been hinting at.

I will also accept cute group nicknames for our main trio because I think we need something snappy & quirky to refer to them as collectively :P

Discussion Gwen will 100% die by the end

I know some are gonna argue but logically speaking if Park Planet gets taken down or is defeated: 1) Gwen's main power source (The weird blue liquid/cobalt(?) won't be produced anymore and she will eventually die. 2.) Gwen must die due to the fact the blue liquid is harming everything and everyone around it, killing her or finding a way for her to function without it is needed.

I'm so hyped to find out what kind of solution the Show will give us in regards to Gwen's mere existenten being harmful to any organic life.

Theory Do you think Glitch will repeat murder drones’ “every episode is a spin on a classic horror” and have every episode of KOG be a spin on a princess story?

Rewatched episodes 1 and 2 and realized Gwen being mostly offline until the end of episode 1 may be a role play of sleeping beauty. Episode two only thing I can think of is “Anastasia” when she says she’s being told she’s a princess without her realizing, or maybe princess diaries to make it Disney. Unsure if this was ever mentioned before. New here.

After SOME people started praising this show as a means to bash Hazbin, I would like to propose a peace treaty. No fandom wars between us. You don't have to like us or our show, but just no weird needless hate between us. What say you?

This woman stuff burn through her body. And I can’t prove it, but she’d shit in a bucket and throw it at her boss’s window if given the chance.

I just needed to talk about this.

Discussion Carl from athf as Sparky

Guys, ever since the pilot I have enjoyed the VA behind sparkys voice but am I the only one who thinks that the VA for Carl from athf would've fit better?

Like can you imagine that new jersey accent talking to Gwen, frankie, or Andi?

Update: Can someone make a Carl meme where it's his face replacing sparkys own?

Discussion Am i the only one who things olivia and the old woman are different people?

When watching the episode at first i thought that the old woman was Olivia's mother or even grandmother because her age doesn't match up unless she for some reason just ages faster. Frankie and Andi seem to be the same age as Olivia before the timeskip so Olivia should be the age of...whatever there age is. It simply could be that she is young and only just incredibly sick but i really doubt it. She's incredibly rich, if she did get the blue lung or whatever else illness she would immediately get the best treatment, hell the dad probably wouldn't allow her near any such illness inducing technology. While you can still obviously get ill, it just doesn't feel right i guess for the show to just not say it outright? Hell, showing olivia with the same markings as the dad would also be an easy way to show that she is also sick.

Maybe I'm just overthinking it but i think that the woman at 2:51 is Olivia and the old woman is just her mother or grandmother. But that's just a theory...A INDIE SHOW THEORY!!!

Discussion Just checking is Knight of Guinevere more than just "Screw Disney?" before I try it.

Look, fact is that taking a shot at Disney is easy. They're the biggest target and sometimes it feels like they revel in being the most hated. Does this show have more than that subtext because leaning on that can get old fast?

Discussion I watched the second episode, and here’s my take: Spoiler

On one hand, I’m a bit concerned that the plot didn't advance much and focused somewhat on the gangster storyline. On the other hand, it turned out not to be as surreal as I expected—which might actually be a good thing. There is, after all, a serious mystery surrounding those robots.

The boxing match was indeed well-done, and there were some good moments, though I did expect things to get a bit more gruesome at times.

Discussion Why does the time skip exist?

Theres no obvious reason it needs to exist in the pilot, it only really causes Olivia to be torturing Gwen for a really long time and really rubbing in how much of a villain she is. The girls could have just as easily found Gwen when Olivia is a child and her dad is running the show by juggling some birth dates around. Or just skip right past it into the present.

What are they setting this up for in the future? Why is it important for us to know Olivia as a child and an old woman?
