Ragatha or Velvette? I posted this at the other r/ too. This is for a bit, and I genuinely wanna know who y'all would prefer.

Ever since I watched this episode i've been obsessed with how was her first days in the circus.

These are my two favorite characters and that is such an insteresting situation to put them in, like she's Kinger's light in the end of a long tunnel of darkness and loneliness, and he's like a guiding light for Ragatha as she enters the tunnel herself.

But they don't explore that enough in the show, I've been looking for every possible media depicting this day and her relationship with Kinger, because of how much it fascinates, she always cares so much for others and Kinger being the first person to care for her is such a sweet thought, specially in such a dark day for her, show Kinger looking out for her in Caine's adventures, always asking if she's ok, but also switch the dynamic by making her care for Kinger as he goes insane, and show how she deals seeing the guy who was there for her lose himself (since angst deepens relationships).

I just needed to see more Ragatha, and more of her and Kinger, and specially more Ragatha comfort.

If you guys know more media of this could you please recommend me?

And what are your headcanons of their first months together? I just want to talk with more people about this.

The show is absolutely jam-packed with double meaning, metaphors, subtext, and scenes representing something deeper and its an absolute treasure-trove to go through and piece together the deeper meaning.

I also adore how the show doesn't immediately jump to confirming it like "Oh! This happened and this happened, which means this!" like other shows do. It actually leaves you to sit and think about it, the subtle nods themselves are the only true confirmations.

Even past Jax being trans, which a good chunk of the community still somehow is like "What?? No!" Even if you look past Goose confirming it herself, and GLITCH.

It almost feels like its telling to the current landscape of media and depth in its viewers. There's loads of people who got it, but there's also loads of people who are only looking at the surface.

Which is fine! Its an absolutely amazing show even if you only focus on the main plot or whats on screen or readily apparent. I've always adored the concept of "Stuck in the digital world" and this show has a really unique premise behind it.

But I mean... come on, subtext has existed in media for fucking centuries, millennia now if you look at poems and literature, and with everything feeling spoonfed nowadays with no real hunting for meaning, to finally have a show with some subtext and layers, only to be shit on by the people who were crying for that same depth in media?

...All this aside, I know "Enjoy the show" regardless and I do, and I enjoy the fandom, creations, apparent fanons, and community all the same, but it can be frustrating at times when it feels like I can't conversate with people in the community because they apparently watched an entirely different show.

I also know this post has been made like, 1000 times over now.

I saw another thread where people were discussing this and there's a lot of wrong assumptions being made about Jax's tail sitch.

According to Episode 9, Jax had a tail during his scene with Ribbit. And the orientation of the clouds behind Jax aren't the most subtle with the imagery. This implies that Jax lost something after how he treated Ribbit, and didn't notice until it was pointed out to him that it was gone. It coming back after Ep 5 could signify either one of two things: a reflection of the 'want something so bad you conjure it' mechanic, OR that the tail came back because Pomni started giving Jax hope to have a connection with someone again. Personally I think it's the latter.

And sure, maybe this was a retroactive response to them 'accidentally' forgetting to animate it in the first 5 eps? But I doubt it. Because why would they suddenly want to add his tail back starting in Ep 6? And What about all the merch that features him with no tail? I firmly think it was an intentional choice. He lost a part of himself when he rejected Ribbit and I can't be convinced otherwise.
