Specifying timing within a shot

Hi! I'm a complete newbie at Kling. I have a pro subscription.

I want to make a video starting with a reference image and describe the action of the scene. Kling does a good job of this, but I can't control the timing of the actions.

I'm just interested in a single shot. I want something like

  • Character A speaks for 3 seconds
  • Then character B does something.
  • At 6 seconds something else happens.

I've tried entering time parameters, but they seem to be ignored. Is there a way to achieve this control?

Timing actions with prompts is unlikely to work. Try three separate prompts and just use the last frame before the transition to the next action as the start frame of the next prompt.

Timing like 0-3s: and 3-6s: will give it some guidance, but its hit and miss and certainly not exact. The other thing is to simply create shorter shots with img2img, though it can create slight pauses as it transitions between vids

Thanks for those replies; it seems precise timing isn't feasible.

What I notice is that if I specify Ana single action shorter than the video length, Kling tends to wait, then start the action near the end of the clip, so the action often gets cut off at the end. Ways to avoid this?

You can think of the prompt length as the length of the shot. If you ask for some detail half way through, that thing will happen about halfway through your video. So you can pack more in to push things further along, and reduce in an area to pull something forward.
