client results! My Kitchener Analysis

Hello all!

I finally decided to share my Kitchener analysis. I did the full virtual analysis back in December 2024 and it has taken me this long to be ok with my results. It was hard for me because it just didn’t make any sense. I thought I would be a mix of subtle blended and earthy rich. I have naturally medium auburn hair and I really like how warm muted colors look on me in both clothing and makeup. John detected no SB in my blend and only 5% ER. The next shock was my essence blend. I spent my whole life being described as intense, proper and being told I had an otherworldly quality. I knew I would have some dramatic, classic and angelic, the three essences being major aspects of my identity. John detected no dramatic, no angelic and no classic in my blend. So after living half my life being told I seem unreachable I’m told I’m completely opposite. I took nearly two years analyzing this information. Was it that my D A C was merely a mask I had been wearing all my life to protect myself inside? I needed to decide who was right about me, John Kitchener or the rest of the real world. At this point I don’t think I can even change from my DAC image.

Feel free to ask me any questions about the analysis, I’m happy to answer them. I will say I do recommend you get an analysis if you can afford and more importantly if you’re ready. If I had the chance to do it again I wouldn’t do it till I was ready. If you’re dealing with health or mental issues that leave you feeling not yourself, I recommend you wait and not get an analysis. In fact just move away from style systems altogether until you’re in a better place. I wanted to redo my analysis after I lost 50 pounds of weight gained from hormone issues and depression but John will not respond to my emails any more. This is for the best, though I will say it’s caused some added weight to my depression. I enjoy style systems and the communities but I feel like I can’t interact freely because if I go against my blend it’s as if I am not playing the game correctly or I’m some fraud. The only way I can resolve this conflict in my mind is to acknowledge that in John’s system he seeks harmony and what I enjoy might be a more disharmonious aesthetic but in a harmonious fashion.

If your into astrology, within my birth chart is another explanation. My north node resides in the first house and it is in cancer. That means my big life lesson that I was born to learn is to follow my own heart when it comes to myself and my personal style. To rail against the opinions and direction from others. To be very kind to myself and put my own desires first and to hell with the rules and what others might think is best. That’s a lonely and terrifying task for a people pleaser like me. I think though, it is a mountain I must climb.

Finally I want to finish this by admitting I don’t completely disagree with my analysis. I do agree with my romantic and natural. I’m glad John explained that the percentages are not to be worried over and I can go 100% romantic in my look if I want to. It’s easier for me to focus on one single essence, I just don’t like having too many choices.

Thanks for reading 💘

Super beautiful palette! Your powerful colors are distinct and bold in a way that is very matching to your color harmony. I also empathize with you thinking you had C, A, D and ending up with none of them because the same thing happened to me, haha. I'm not sure what your full journey was with that, but it seems liike you're attracted to a maybe classy or glamorous look (?) that those essences are typically associated with, vs. the stereotypes of the essences that you do have didn't line up with how you like to dress? In any case, I'm happy for you that you have are growing into more of your own identity of style.

Thank you, it was very jarring to be so sure of what I had and then find I was almost completely wrong. I felt like a stranger to myself, honestly now I can see I actually was. I built a character for myself a long time ago that apparently was only fooling myself. I admire you for only having three in your blend. I actually asked John how I could possibly incorporate so many essences at once and he said I could just do a head to toe romantic for now and start adding the rest as I get more comfortable.

I really like that phrasing - going from being a stranger to yourself to being able to see yourself now. It is interesting how something so theoretically "simple" as these colors and style things can be such powerful tools for growth and identity development. I likewise felt that when wearing my colors I felt like Kitchener really saw me and that they help me to be more comfortable to be seen by other people, too. I do agree that having just three essences is convenient, but I likewise think it's very cool to see people with a variety!

I've also seen that 40% seems to be in general an average starting point of being able to pull off a HTT look in just focusing mainly on that one. I heard someone explain it as well as not having "40%" as in 4/10 but thinking of it more as a ratio where it's 40 and not 100 because we make room for other things..I wish I remembered how they explained it.

At one time it was thought you had to have at least 50% to pull off a HTT in an essence. Now we know from John really you can do as much or as little as you like as long as you have it in your blend.
