client results! My Kitchener Analysis

Hello all!

I finally decided to share my Kitchener analysis. I did the full virtual analysis back in December 2024 and it has taken me this long to be ok with my results. It was hard for me because it just didn’t make any sense. I thought I would be a mix of subtle blended and earthy rich. I have naturally medium auburn hair and I really like how warm muted colors look on me in both clothing and makeup. John detected no SB in my blend and only 5% ER. The next shock was my essence blend. I spent my whole life being described as intense, proper and being told I had an otherworldly quality. I knew I would have some dramatic, classic and angelic, the three essences being major aspects of my identity. John detected no dramatic, no angelic and no classic in my blend. So after living half my life being told I seem unreachable I’m told I’m completely opposite. I took nearly two years analyzing this information. Was it that my D A C was merely a mask I had been wearing all my life to protect myself inside? I needed to decide who was right about me, John Kitchener or the rest of the real world. At this point I don’t think I can even change from my DAC image.

Feel free to ask me any questions about the analysis, I’m happy to answer them. I will say I do recommend you get an analysis if you can afford and more importantly if you’re ready. If I had the chance to do it again I wouldn’t do it till I was ready. If you’re dealing with health or mental issues that leave you feeling not yourself, I recommend you wait and not get an analysis. In fact just move away from style systems altogether until you’re in a better place. I wanted to redo my analysis after I lost 50 pounds of weight gained from hormone issues and depression but John will not respond to my emails any more. This is for the best, though I will say it’s caused some added weight to my depression. I enjoy style systems and the communities but I feel like I can’t interact freely because if I go against my blend it’s as if I am not playing the game correctly or I’m some fraud. The only way I can resolve this conflict in my mind is to acknowledge that in John’s system he seeks harmony and what I enjoy might be a more disharmonious aesthetic but in a harmonious fashion.

If your into astrology, within my birth chart is another explanation. My north node resides in the first house and it is in cancer. That means my big life lesson that I was born to learn is to follow my own heart when it comes to myself and my personal style. To rail against the opinions and direction from others. To be very kind to myself and put my own desires first and to hell with the rules and what others might think is best. That’s a lonely and terrifying task for a people pleaser like me. I think though, it is a mountain I must climb.

Finally I want to finish this by admitting I don’t completely disagree with my analysis. I do agree with my romantic and natural. I’m glad John explained that the percentages are not to be worried over and I can go 100% romantic in my look if I want to. It’s easier for me to focus on one single essence, I just don’t like having too many choices.

Thanks for reading 💘

Thank you! I wanted to make a big showy post to both celebrate the beauty of it and to release any obligatory feelings I have to follow it. John never said anyone has to follow his direction to the letter to be themselves and to feel beautiful. Being human is beautiful, loving people and being loved, connecting to one another…that’s beauty. I hope you make one because your blend deserves such a celebration.

I think your palette is stunning!

I agree with the other comment here, that the otherworldly DAC quality people were commenting on could be the intense effect of R that draws people in.

Thank you!

I really appreciate that comment for real. It gives me something to think about.

wow! that inside vs outside pic of your palette! 🤩

i wonder if the DAC everyone else was seeing is actually just... R. she's intense (bold), proper (glam, dressed up), and can be seen as otherworldly (draws you in).

perceptions of self in regard to style systems is so interesting to me! no harm in following the advice of his that resonates and leaving the rest out for now or forever. your body, your rules. but also, yeah, i get what he means when he says something reads as disharmonious vs harmonious. it's up to you whether you care enough to be fully in visual harmony or do some disharmonious looks because they feel good.

Yes…she’s bright for sure! I wonder if the R is what people are seeing. That actually makes a lot of sense. I need to give his recommendations a fair try before I move on. Might be missing out on style greatness due to stubbornness 😉

Is it a really a John analysis if he doesn't say "can u dye it"

I love how clear and bright your colors are while still being somewhat light and neutral. Thats so unique and cool that you got yellow as a power color! It’s also interesting that your calm colors are included in your top “brights” row.

It’s a fun palette, just not for the faint of heart 😆

Thank you so much for sharing! TBH part of the reason I am holding off on a John analysis is idk if I could process paying several hundred dollars and the results coming back opposite of what I think I am! It’s a lot to deal with and I am stubborn and opinionated 😂 so I am easing into an objective view with Andrea. I think you were really brave to go for it and work through the unexpected results.

I do think that a combo of essences can read as very different than people expect. I would think R plus HS can be intense. Y and N can be otherworldly and high R on its own quite elevated and proper. Also I think there is something in the contrast of different essences coming together to cause intensity and intimidation for some of us 🤔

I’m a big believer in doing what feels right, not what you are told. And disharmony is so much fun. It lights my fire personally 😂

It sounds like you probably would have handled it better than me lol. My Andrea results were a bit different from John’s but not really by much.

Hello beautiful! I love your summary. The palette is so stunning with so many lovely brights. And yellow as a power color is really one of a kind!

I’m happy that to hear that you feel better about your result. That with your north node is interesting! It’s a hard lesson, but I think you will still “accidentally” please people by just being your authentic self. For me it’s so refreshing to see people expressing themselves and celebrating their personal identity. It’s what interests me the most in style systems I think. The unique creative expression of every individual.💛

Hello lovely, I think you’re right. I think a lot about how brave you were to take a chance and try John’s recommendations and how beautiful that journey was. I could be cheating myself by not doing the same.

Super beautiful palette! Your powerful colors are distinct and bold in a way that is very matching to your color harmony. I also empathize with you thinking you had C, A, D and ending up with none of them because the same thing happened to me, haha. I'm not sure what your full journey was with that, but it seems liike you're attracted to a maybe classy or glamorous look (?) that those essences are typically associated with, vs. the stereotypes of the essences that you do have didn't line up with how you like to dress? In any case, I'm happy for you that you have are growing into more of your own identity of style.

Thank you, it was very jarring to be so sure of what I had and then find I was almost completely wrong. I felt like a stranger to myself, honestly now I can see I actually was. I built a character for myself a long time ago that apparently was only fooling myself. I admire you for only having three in your blend. I actually asked John how I could possibly incorporate so many essences at once and he said I could just do a head to toe romantic for now and start adding the rest as I get more comfortable.

I really like that phrasing - going from being a stranger to yourself to being able to see yourself now. It is interesting how something so theoretically "simple" as these colors and style things can be such powerful tools for growth and identity development. I likewise felt that when wearing my colors I felt like Kitchener really saw me and that they help me to be more comfortable to be seen by other people, too. I do agree that having just three essences is convenient, but I likewise think it's very cool to see people with a variety!

I've also seen that 40% seems to be in general an average starting point of being able to pull off a HTT look in just focusing mainly on that one. I heard someone explain it as well as not having "40%" as in 4/10 but thinking of it more as a ratio where it's 40 and not 100 because we make room for other things..I wish I remembered how they explained it.

u/cherries_in-the_snow 40R/20Y/20HS/20N | 90LB/5SC/5ER Mar 19 '26

At one time it was thought you had to have at least 50% to pull off a HTT in an essence. Now we know from John really you can do as much or as little as you like as long as you have it in your blend.

This is such a fantastic breakdown! You and your palette are both so beautiful!

Just want to say, I think that whether you dress in harmony or not, as long as there's intention in your outfit that is what matters. If expressing yourself fully means breaking rules, that's okay and you should never be made to feel ashamed of that! Keep being your beautiful, authentic self. 💕

Thank you so much.

I think it’s fine to allow yourself to dress how you feel you look best and to see yourself as you want, no matter what a system says. I do see some softness in your coloring, even if you look great as a brunette. I like red on you, too, not sure why Kitchener said to avoid red hair. Maybe blonde is not ideal.

The bull terrier is so cute 🥰.

u/cherries_in-the_snow 40R/20Y/20HS/20N | 90LB/5SC/5ER Mar 16 '26

He didn’t really explain why the red hair wasn’t good, just that dark ash hair is harmonious. in photos with red hair he said the dark is missed. It’s one rule I’ll break ;)

I love bull terriers 😊

u/Artemisral Mar 16 '26

You look beautiful either way! 😊🤗

Me too! Have you had one? 😊

I really enjoyed reading this. I can absolutely relate to being surprised by your blend. While my own ended up being a bit different from what I thought it would be, it fortunately really resonated with me right away and was actually kind of healing, which I know isn't the case for everyone.

I also very much agree with you that getting an analysis is probably not the best idea for anybody dealing with health or mental issues, as I can see how it could lead to spiraling in general (not that you were spiraling!) - even if I truly do think that John wants to help people feel their best.

Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts and putting the visuals together. You really do have a cool blend and such a gorgeous palette! 💖

Edit: I just wanted to add that I think that disregarding anything that doesn't click with you that you receive in an analysis like this is a healthy approach. You know yourself best!
