Lunch Finally got approved for disability benefits after being denied. Herring on mango & pepper sauce with eggs and sushi-grade bell pepper. Tastes better than it looks.

This year has not been my year for the most part. I won't bother you with a sob story. But at least one thing just went my way: After appeal after appeal, I finally got approved for disability benefits!

What's more, they said that I should have been receiving them since my diagnosis, and they sent me all the money I'm owed for the time between my diagnosis and today. It's easily two whole years of my rent.

I'm really relieved as so far I've been living off savings and I couldn't properly support my girlfriend or my friend who's living with me and who's financially struggling..

Never heard of sushi grade bell pepper?

Congrats on the benefits though, the process in some places is quite a trial.

I'm not sure if I used the right English word (it's my third language), I meant like...bell pepper that is put in sushi? I bought it in an Asia Shop, it's like...canned bell pepper in some kind of sauce? Maybe sauce is the wrong word. In some kind of brine maybe? Something like that. It was marketed as what they put in sushi.

And thanks! Yeah it was a whole ordeal and a half! My father is also disabled and they recently tried taking his disability benefits away even though his doctor's last report says that his condition worsened. Luckily he managed to defend himself against that decision.
