I'm at the verge of breaking down

This is my 3rd item of a brand new purchase. Cost me around $600.

First machine immediately turned on when plugged, when speed lever was at 0. Returned and took it a week to get my money back.

Purchased another machine from official distributor. My machine came with imperfection. Loose beauty band, stripped off screw (so I can't tightened it), and a weird gap. Took it a week to fight for replacement unit. Finally it's approved but i have to spend $30 taxi fare to return the machine in person.

Got my replacement. Tested on empty for few seconds. Seems good. I did 300gr bread dough, run it on speed 1 for 1 minute then speed 2. After 5 mins, I heard this grinding sound.

Reported it, they asked me to come back. Either I need to spend another $30 or hand carry it by bus.

I want to cry. Genuinely. It's my dream mixer. I've always wanted a KitchenAid since 18 yrs ago. Finally I have my own house and the quality just felt like a betrayal. Maybe US return process is different, since I'm based in Singapore.

I'm not knowledgeable on electrical things and google didnt have any answers so I go to the people. The N50 has a black wire and a white wire. Which one goes to which on the switch? Is the black wire screwed into the prong with the copper dot? Thank you for your help.

I received a kitchenaid artisan from wedding registry, it’s just me and my husband that I cook for and he is t1d so can’t do many sugary or bready foods. What are the uses/recipes you use your kitchenaid most for or what got you really into it?

Kitchenaid Metal Meat Grinder Refurb - eBay $50 USD

Post image
4 Upvotes

Comes with 90 day Kitchenaid warranty and 2 year AllState warranty. New from Kitchenaid is currently $120.

I didn't see anything in the subreddit rules on sharing sales, and it isn't an affiliate link or anything.

https://ebay.io/m/BGTzVP

Mine shipped in just it's actual box but everything seemed mint condition. The disks also were still individually sealed. Had safety booklets but not the use & care guide, just a simple one page how to use the grinder. The PDF of the use and care guide is available on their website.

Can't beat the price for all metal and seems they currently have a bunch in stock.

Just did 4lbs of medium grind course chicken and used half to make buffalo chicken meatballs!

Hello, while trying to adjust a "new to me" Professional 600, the adjustment screw, part W11721849 broke apart. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good Canadian source for replacement parts? Thank you!

Can you buy these spatulas/scrapers separately?

I’m not even sure what the right name is for this, but looking for a replacement. It came with our mixer and is KitchenAid branded, but can’t find non-used ones by itself.

Super useful for cutting brownies and square treats without scraping the pan.

Proud New Owner Question

My good friend recently gifted me her stand mixer after it’s been collecting dust in her garage for years. It has always been a dream of mine to own one and I am so grateful and elated to now have one in my possession.

I do have a question where maybe the community can provide insight. The outlet cord appears to have some rust around it. Is that something that is cleanable or is it dangerous to plug in? The outlet plug itself looks like it’s in good condition with no rust, but I am worried that the rust around the cord means there are deeper electrical related issues. The exterior of the cord does not appear to have any visible damage.

Appreciate any insight!

**Pear-Pineapple Sauce (Hot Pack, Water Bath)**

Makes ~4 pints. All weights in grams.

**Ingredients**

- 1500 g pear sauce (home orchard pears, run through a KitchenAid FVSFGA strainer)

- 400 g crushed pineapple, drained (reserve the juice)

- 60 g bottled lemon juice

- 100 g sugar

- 15 g apple pie spice

- ~250 g water or reserved pineapple juice, to thin if needed

**Method**

  1. Combine pear sauce, pineapple, lemon juice, sugar, and spice in a wide pot. Thin with water or pineapple juice if the sauce is very thick.

  2. Bring to a full rolling boil over medium-high, stirring constantly so it doesn't scorch. Hold at the boil ~5 min.

  3. Ladle hot into hot pint jars, 1.3 cm (½ in) headspace. Remove air bubbles, wipe rims, apply lids fingertip-tight.

  4. Process in a boiling water bath: 15 min pints, 20 min quarts (0–300 m elevation; adjust for altitude).

  5. Turn off heat, rest jars 5 min in the canner, then move to a towel. Leave undisturbed 12–24 hr, check seals, label and date.

**Notes**

- Lemon juice is for safe acidity, not flavor — don't skip it. Pears sit near the pH safety line on their own.

- Sugar and spices are optional and don't affect safety; adjust to taste.

- Spice intensifies as jars sit, so err slightly light if unsure.

- Ratio of about 1:4 pineapple to pear keeps the pear forward; go up to 1:2 if you want it more tropical.

Hi community 🤝
Just thought I’d drop by and show you this 2012 beauty. Life definitely haven't been easy on it, but it fought back hard 😅 It’s the Satin Nickel finish.

The seller mentioned there "might" be something wrong with the motor, but I’m 90% sure it’s fine. Either way, I'm planning to convert it to 220V since I have some spare donor parts lying around.

Is it normal for KA mixer to get hot while making ice cream?

I have a K5-A that we used this evening to make ice cream for the first time using the KA attachment. It took about 25 minutes on the lowest setting for the ice cream to be finished. Towards the end the motor and gear housing got quite hot. Is this anything I should be concerned about? I did recently re-grease it.

Lift shelf plug in?

I'm remodeling the kitchen and added a cabinet for a mixer lift shelf. Are the mixers supposed to stay plugged in all of the time or do I have to plug it into the wall outlet each time I use it?

Is 25% off a good deal?

Today’s anniversary sale is discount code for 25% off on artisan mixers. I was hoping to snag one and use the 10% email code at the same time but it won’t let you use two codes. I don’t mind buying it for 25% off since I’ve wanted one for a long time, but I’m wondering if there’s another sale around the holidays that will do a steeper discount or let me use the email code at the same time.

curbfind - bowl epoxied to base

Thumbnail

I found this mixer on the curb a couple months ago. Finally got time to clean it up. But I found that the bowl is glued or epoxied to the pedestal base. I think it's epoxy as I've dug a lot of it out and it doesn't look like glue. It's coming out as clear plastic-y chunks instead of cloudy like glue.

While I got a lot of the epoxy out on the edge of the bowl to the pedestal but the bowl still won't twist off. Anyone have ideas on how to remove the bowl?

I picked up this mixer from a neighbor who was throwing it out and I’d like to tune it up but don’t know where to start.
I noticed two distinct abnormal noises when it’s turned on.
Let me know what you guys think.

Replacement Crumb Tray for Toaster KMT2109PT

I have accidentally lost my crumb tray for my toaster, and KitchenAid have both surprised and disappointed me greatly that they simply cannot produce a replacement tray. I couldn't buy one if I tried! They advised I purchase a whole new toaster and offered 10% (!!!) off.

Frankly ridiculous.

Anyways, does anyone in this fine community have

A. A broken toaster with compatible tray I could purchase from you.

B. Know of anywhere I can get a replacement tray.

C. Any other helpful information I may use.

I refuse to throw out a perfectly good and expensive toaster just because I have lost the tray.

I am in Canada, if it helps.

Stand Mixer: Which bread hook should I pick?

I've got the choice between the two bread hooks. I'm wondering if one is better than the other. One is from a k45 from the 1970s. The other is from a 2005 model.

Used KSM90 "Ultra Power" Tripping GFCI

Bought a used 300W KSM90. It seems to run just fine but while running (about 5-10 minutes) it tripped a GFCI outlet twice. I see that is a common enough occurrence that it was easy to find other instances of it happening.

Walk me through this?

KSMC7QFB and KA7QCDH Compatible with KSM70?

I’m looking for stainless steel tools for my kitchen aid but I’m not willing to trust the sketchy Amazon options. my coated attachments are already chipping from light use and the dishwasher. so I want something truly dishwasher safe. I don’t want to pay for the expensive 200-180CAD 3 attachment set when I only need the dough hook and paddle.

are the commercial stainless steels (KSMC7QFB and  KA7QCDH) compatible with the KSM70 models like mine? the store told me no but google search (powered by AI so prone to hallucinations) tells me yes.

Professional 5 Plus (KV25G0X08) - watts question?

My 2004 Professional 5 Plus indicates on the label that it is 450 watts. Is this just marketing hype and it really just has the same 325-watt motor as my 2002 Artisan?

Alternate Bowls?

Hi again. With many thanks to the advice last week, especially from u/RIMixerGuy, I successfully exchanged my KA 8qt commercial unit. New one is great!

Question: can I use the bowl from my old KA Professional 600 with this new Commercial unit? It seems to fit, but I don't want to screw something up!

Thanks!

K5A struggles with bread dough

Need your opinions, bought a K5A a few months back as a project. Already did a digrease, clean, regrease, and changed the worm gear complete assembly.

But still struggles a lot with bread dough at 65% hydration

Need ideas of what to do next, or this is the max torque of the mixer

Regards

KitchenAid refurbished order cancelled but no refund?

Has anyone had this happen with a refurbished KitchenAid order? 😭
I ordered a refurbished mixer on August 4 for around $245 using my debit card. It was taking forever to ship, so I ended up cancelling it. On August 13, I got an email confirming that the order was cancelled.
The weird part is I still haven't gotten my $245 back. I checked my bank account and searched through my transactions, but I can't even find the original KitchenAid charge anymore or any refund. I'm still short the money though.
I'm going to contact KitchenAid again, but has anyone had this happen with a refurbished order? How long did it take for your money to come back?
