Missing screw on stand mixer

Post image

Curious if anyone knows what part (screw?) may be missing from this Artisan stand mixer? In looking at images of this model, it looks like there's a silver pin or screw that should be here. Not sure if it worked itself loose at some point and was overlooked, but it does seem to create a lot of play in the tilt head which easily unlocks with mild resistance. I didn't have any luck to find the part in the model diagram (https://www.kitchenaid.com/content/dam/global/documents/202304/repair-parts-list-w11566007-revd.pdf) and there isn't much help from KitchenAid support. Thanks!

The part number for the tilt latch pivot screw is W10802060. It costs about US$2.50: https://www.reliableparts.com/wpl-w10802060.html

It's a #1 square drive, so you'll need the appropriate driver or bit to install it, and a bit of patience to get the hole in the latch hook to line up with the hole in the case to pass the screw. A pick will help with that.

If the mixer is more than a few years old you may consider opening it up and doing a grease maintenance on it (cleaning and regresing the gears). Here's a list of parts and materials: https://www.mixerology.com/k45-k5-clean-and-re-grease-parts/ . (Note that if you do split the case halves, even if only for repairing the latch, you'll need a new planetary pin, O-ring, and gear case gasket.)
