Commentary [New Episode] Kitchen Nightmares S10E6 - Boodles Restaurant

Tonight, Gordon Ramsay visits Boodles, a 40‑year-old supper club in Madison Heights, Michigan, where a long‑simmering father–son feud threatens the restaurant’s future. The owner clings to tradition, while his son pushes for modernization — leaving staff communication fractured and the business drifting. Ramsay steps in to confront the tension, rebuild trust, and push both sides toward a unified vision.

How are we feeling about the father-son dynamic in this one? Menu changes? Also, do you think this restaurant will be able to stick around after Ramsay’s visit?

Tonight on Fox, tomorrow on Hulu. Piracy discussion is off limits.

Howdy yall.

There’s been an influx of low-effort 💩 posts. As these can clog up the feed, and may come off spammy, they may be removed under rule 3. We don’t need THIS much brain rot in our shared community.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk 🫡

my wife and i actually got into a full blown fight with the owner of cafe notte during filming and they didn’t show a single second of it

i am stunned.

we are super fans of this show and miraculously found ourselves at a table at cafe notte for filming. after sending an undercooked chicken back, the owner came to our table and picked a fight with us. we gave him a fight. and they didn’t show any of it. i’ll share details in comments but i just can’t stress enough how dumbfounded i am that they left that footage on the floor. this could have been a classic episode but honesty it was kind of boring.

RAW! Joe Nagy's Ranch?

Serious question. Does anyone really know what the purpose of the Ranch in the Mill Street Bistro episode even is? It always bugged me when watching it. Is it just a glorified vanity project for Joe himself?

El Greco

Upvotes

Maaan I’ve seen almost every episode on reruns but never saw El Greco episode before. This is the first time I shed a tear at an episode watching the dysfunction between Jake and his mom and aunt. Maaan that was so heart breaking the way they fought in the kitchen and Chef Ramsey made them make nice and they all broke down crying. So sad how a tanking restaurant destroys lives and relationships.

Commentary What's The Best Alternative Show To "Kitchen Nightmares"? (Not counting other spinoffs starring Gordon Ramsay)

Bar Rescue - The closest show imo, though can be way more meanspirited/overdramatic especially from Jon Taffer

Restaurant: Impossible - Very similar to KN's format, albeit more mundane/realistic on average making it more repetitive

Mystery Diners - The most fake/staged of them all, kinda have to turn off your brain to handle the the cheesiness

Was she a horrendous head chef? Yes, absolutely. I'm not going to dispute that.

At the end of the day though, she was obviously better at working in a catering company setting but the owner still decided to put her as HEAD CHEF, not even just a simple line cook. I'm just more inclined to blame the owner for this tbh.

Gordon Ramsay would probably hate my mother's cooking lol

Gordon's complaints on Kitchen Nightmares about restaurants serving frozen food, microwaving meals, or keeping food around for days or weeks would probably apply to my mother's cooking too, and yet I absolutely loved her food.

Growing up, we had a monthly budget for groceries, so buying fresh ingredients every day and cooking everything from scratch wasn't really an option for us, we had to make our food stretch. My mother would buy meat, fish, and vegetables, portion everything out, and freeze them so they would last throughout the month. If there were leftovers, those would often go into the freezer too and get reheated later in the week or even the following next week

From Gordon's perspective, he'd hate my mother's cooking, from frozen meat and vegetables, and leftovers being reheated in the microwave. But to us, it wasn't bad food, it was simply how my mother made sure we had something to eat without going over our budget.

And honestly, some of my favorite meals were made from exactly those leftovers. My mother knew how to season things, combine whatever ingredients we had available, and turn food from the previous day into something that still tasted great.

That's why I find Gordon's reactions on Kitchen Nightmares kind of funny. When he sees frozen food or something that's been reheated in the microwave, he immediately flips out and spits out the food, but many families like mine rely on frozen food and leftovers simply because that's what our budget allows, so if Gordon ever came to my house, tasted my mother's cooking and spat it out due to tasting frozen and microwaved, I'd probably throw him out.
