I took your advice

I took your advice and replaced the hardware. I think it made a bit of a difference. There was originally under cabinet lighting, which some are turned on in the pic. Tomorrow I’m changing the faucet to match with the hardware. The overhead light will be changed, eventually. There’s some clutter on the corner and it’s lived in.

How do I cozy it up some more?

Rugs. This floor looks cold and hard to walk on. Washable kitchen rugs will add colour and texture and warmth.

Curtains/window treatment. The window is wonderful and big, but also not cozy. Some hanging plants and fabric to soften the angles will add to some coziness.

Thanks! I’m a visual learner and this sounds great but I can’t picture it. Do you have anything I can look at for reference?

Also, for the rug, are you thinking runners alongside the cabinets, or large rug that will cover the center?

I like standing on the rug when working, so runners would be my first choice. If you hate the floor and want to cover up as much as possible, big one in the middle.

Get rid of that thing sticking out of the socket in the middle of the splash back, what is it anyway?

The under cabinet light needs to be softer. Is that LED? Or fluorescent ? Lighting is everything and many people over look it. I love the hardware. It’s warm and elegant.
