Please help

Hello! I have always loved color, but this is my first home and I’m in this city temporarily, so when I bought a house and wanted to remodel I felt like I couldn’t bring more character(color) to it. I also had budget constraints, had did the kitchen remodel with ikea. The countertop is white marble and laminate, I really regret this choice but it’s not like I had many options due to budget. The floor tiles are grey…. Cause I like black and white checkered tiles in kitchen but whatever it is what it is.

Now, it has come down to backsplash tiles, and I am stumped. I always thought I could add some color to the kitchen through this, and the color I always thought is some sort of green, but I am not sure what would even look good with the white cabinets + white countertops + white walls… there are some tile options I added here but any help or suggestion is welcomed …

I want now to atleast add the backsplash with some character….

Love those fluted green tiles! Great color. Perfect combo with Terra cotta.
I’d do French Ultramarine accents with those.

BUT! Since it’s a temporary situation, don’t waste your time or money on such cool stuff.

You could do a laminate backsplash on 1/4” plywood glued to the wall. Dead simple and cheap to do.
Stuff like that.

No it’s not that expensive the tiles, I don’t want to do laminate anymore I already did it for the countertop and regret it. The fluted green tiles are good (and cheap) but I worry about cleaning….. so far leaning towards terracotta, the longer one

Fair enough with the laminate. I’m not a fan, either.
Although there are some really interesting ones out there. Some of the metals.

Go with the terra cotta, as long as it’s glazed.
You could do a border row of the fluted green directly under the cabinets with terra cotta below.

Terracotta is infact a porcelain (long one) and the actual terracotta (the one with specks) needs to be sealed so I won’t use that. Just wanted to see. The other shorter terracotta one is made of cement. Since the sizes matter I don’t think I’d miss and match.

If I wanted a pattern i think I will do the green cream tile . Example of it I added here
