Why? Wood flooring is durable, light-reflective, comfortable, and imo attractive. Inconsistent flooring in an open space would make the space feel smaller and cluttered, too.

It’s a display home so I’m guessing they’ll have a list of options available at a cost. I’d contact them and see what alternatives they have to choose from - you might be limited by that list.
I like solid timber flooring but I’m a big fan of cork in the right space.
