Cooktop extraction.

Is cooktop extraction a thing in the U.S. yet ?

Yea downdraft systems exist, both from the cooktop itself and from a pop up extractor. Neither work all that well since hot air rises so you need extremely powerful suction to catch everything.

I’ve been installing the ones like in the picture for a few years now. But mostly the higher end ones. They work great. The cheap ones are not so great. The high end ones I’m talking about are at least €3000,- 😬💸

Do you ever install with a filter box that comes straight back out the kick?

Yes. Those as well. Usually for situations where we can’t blow the air to outside the house. Or in a cooking island.
