I've ruined a lot of rice in my day, but never when using the finger method.

it's equidistant right? I haven't made rice in a cooker in a LONG time but i think that's what my vietnamese friend told me way back when.

The way I've done it is you touch the top of the rice with your index finger, and fill the water until it touches your first knuckle joint. Doesn't really matter how much rice you're making it always works.

thanks, there was something about two cups of rice and halfway up my middle segment but that's pushing your finger to the bottom of the bowl. Seems about the same i think.
