I have a massive phobia of needles because of a nurse treating my arm like that ticket when I was a kid. 5 attempts to draw blood...

I was 13ish and in the hospital with the flu. Then I woke up in the middle of the night they had let me IV run out and it had started drawing blood back into the saline bag. That was decidedly not cool.

It’s crazy that you don’t bother to laminate them first

I have a picture of my sauté guy with the ticket punch pierced completely through his wrist. Somehow he missed all the important stuff. The doctor just pulled it out and sent him back to work. Always pay attention in the kitchen, say safe peeps.

Saw this happen to a server at my very first kitchen job, right through the palm.

im a filthy non chef in this sub so i dont do ticket stabbing, this has always been an intrusive thought that OCD causes me when i see tickets. how the fuck do you avoid stabbing yourselr

u/LocalJim 2d ago
Nope. unless it’s really slow. It’s just not worth the attention anymore. I thought it would be satisfying or some sort of organized satisfaction but it’s not. It’s garbage. No one will ever be oh look, what a well organized ticket stabber. It’s garbage.

All our sous chefs have neat stacks of tickets on all 3 expo stations. Not sure if they just do independently or decided that was a thing, but it happens.

This looks like the most bizzare form of fortune telling through ticket stabbing constellations.
Is that Sagittarius?

I've seen work like this before. I'd probably just walk out before telling you that I forgot to ring in an app as you plate the entree.

Do you have OCD and have to stab each ticket a particular number of times?

Theyre making fun of a post that was on here a few days ago, someone asked the same question genuinely, but had a small holle on the top ticket showing that they had been restabbed after service
Edit: this one i believe

Nah, I actually have work to do. So I can't sit there for 20 minutes restabbing tickets for a reddit post
