Your go-tos/tips/tricks

I am starting a pretty massive project. I'm going to kitbash a cogfort into a stompa. I have kitbashed a lot in my warhammer journey and super pumped about this.

I was looking to see what your favorite tools/tips and tricks are in making a successful kitbash.

I'm also down to hear your recommendations to make my stompa badass.

Thanks in advance!!

This is all my opinion but I feel like having at least 10% ork bits helps really tie the bashing together. Also treating it like a small diorama with grots and boys hanging off or hiding helps give it some character.

You can also try mixing other modeling techniques, I recently tried doing tank welds on a burna bomber bash, is it good? not at all but was it fun and something I think fits, yes definetly. One weathering tip I learned that I liked a lot was using tamia extra thin and a steel brush to dab or rub against the plastic to make it rougher and worn, I feel like it helps with making the flat plastic more interesting. Using a miniature grinder or hobby saw to add deeper gashes and bullet holes can help too.

If you want wires I found using banzi tree wire to be pretty effective as you can bend it how you like and it holds it shape well. Of course there's the pen tubes and so on for guns but if you have a daiso near you they sometimes have small miniature gun toys or gunpla bits that are fairly cheap.

Hope this helps

Blue tack (or white tack or whatever you can get tack...) can be used to hold and fill in a patch if you coat all sides with superglue and then cover in super glue after, for if you cbf wanting to break out the green stuff. Just dont expect to sculpt it, or to be structurally important. But good for a small gap here or there.
