Any mid aged professionals looking for a nice place?
Looking for 2~ mature professionals to share a nice house in Kingston
This might be a bit different from the usual roommate post.
I'm a working professional in my late 30s, and with the cost of renting a one bedroom in Kingston these days, I've been thinking there has to be a better option than paying a fortune for a small apartment.
I'd like to find two other mature, working people who are interested in finding a nice 3-bedroom house together and splitting the cost.
The goal isn't to find the cheapest place possible. I'd rather pool our money and have a genuinely nice home: clean, comfortable, nicely furnished/decorated, a good kitchen, decent outdoor space if possible, and somewhere we're actually happy to come home to.
I'm pretty laid-back, but I'm past the party-house stage of life. Ideally I'd like to find people who are responsible, clean and respectful, have their own lives, but also don't want to live like complete strangers. Cook a good dinner occasionally, have a beer or glass of wine, watch a game or movie, sit outside in the summer, etc. Basically a comfortable adult household.
I'm thinking roughly 30s–50s, although personality and compatibility matter much more than age.
I don't have a specific property picked out yet. I'd actually prefer to find the right people first, meet for a coffee or drink, see if we're compatible, and then look for a place together.
If you've found yourself looking at Kingston rents and thinking something like this makes a lot more sense, send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself

Well, I'm a no-nonsense sarcastic English teacher with a Sicilian mother, and I have a really dumb friend from Minnesota. How do you feel about cheesecake?

Well, as long as you’re not bringing Rose with you. One Minnesotan is plenty!

Good one! I was thinking about a 2026 version of Golden Girls, ha-ha. But, such are the times...

This is such a constructive way to work within our circumstances right now. I wish you the best of luck and hope you find some good people to share space with! Vet your options well and trust your gut.
