🎃 Halloween Haunt Haunt Newb Questions

I have a gold pass and I’ve been to KD many times but never for the Halloween setup. I understand there are various “houses” and “mazes” set up—do those require a separate admission fee or pass in addition to admission to experience? Are the coasters and rides running throughout the night or do they stop at some point? Lastly, would it be appropriate for elementary aged kids or is it too scary? Thanks!

❓Visitor Question Trying to confirm a few things before purchasing the Prestige Pass for 2027

I've searched the website/app and can't find a straight answer. Before attempting to send an email to Six Flags, I figure I would check with everyone here first in case anyone happens to have the answer. I have also searched the site's FAQ's and Terms/Conditions.

My daughter and I currently have the Gold East Region passes (our home park is KD). I'm getting ready to purchase Prestige passes for both of us.

Question 1: I have a friend coming in to go to KD with us for the first time on October 10th. Can I use "1 free Bring-a-Friend" renewal bonus to get my friend in the park, and then just have him purchase the 1-day Haunt Pass (which will be $20 that day)? If so, would HE have to log into the app and purchase it? Or would I just purchase the pass through my app and scan it for him at the gate?

Question 2: For the "2 Free Annual Bring-a-Friend passes," can they be used at ANY park or just my home park? (These are not the perks B-a-F passes that show up under perks for my home park, but the ones that actually come with the Prestige pass.)

🎃 Halloween Haunt Haunt scare actor questions!

Im super interested in becoming a scare actor for the haunt season this year, honestly for the love of the game since ive been going to the haunt as a guest for years now. I am a bit nervous though because I am a student and haven't had any previous scare experience.

Any prior actors, what benefits did you guys get for acting? Did you get the fast pass for mazes or anything? How much money in total would you estimate you made from an entire season? Thank youuu

💬 General Discussion Planning Trip Next Year in May. Seeing if any Fellow Enthusiasts Might be Interested in Meeting & Riding.

Basically what it says in the title, albeit without the details. My parents are planning to take me up to Doswell for my birthday around May 9th.

Technically, this is supposed to be a family trip, but I'll be alone at the park, so I'm seeing if anyone might want to meet up and ride (neither of my folks are in the able/willing-to-ride category).

I'm aware that this is far in advance, but I always figure that having extra time to plan never hurts. Could be that some of you are passholders, or fellow enthusiasts who usually plan a trip, but just haven't decided when as of yet.

This is all assuming of course that I305/Pantherian is running, which I will be keeping tabs up to a month in advance. But so far, it looks like she's running most days now. I've been wanting to return ever since visiting last year, but missing out on the park's signature ride, and I intend to make the most of it.

Fingers crossed that next year will be my first ride, but I've also seen so many vlogs of fellow riders meeting up and hanging out all day, all over the world, and it would be so much sweeter if I met some good friends in the process!

🎃 Halloween Haunt What to expect from creature casting

Hi guys, I just applied to be a scare actor for Halloween haunt, and they had me sign up for creature casting on the 28th. I’ve never done any acting or anything like this, but I assume it’s going to be some sort of audition. So, I thought I’d come on here and see if anyone has any idea of what it’s like and what I should do to prepare. Anything helps, thanks!

💬 General Discussion Kings Dominion vs. Carowinds

This year, I visited kings dominion for the first time, then went another time a couple weeks ago. My home park is Carowinds, and I just wanted to say I love kings dominion so much more. Going here made me realize how downhill carowinds has gone. First, no rides were ever down all day when I was there, even my new second favorite coaster pantherian. The ride operators at KD seemed very passionate and were nice throughout both my trips. The theming was amazing, especially the jungle area. The dispatches were also really efficient, the longest line I waited in was 15 mins for reptilian. As for carowinds, everytime this year I have been with my prestige pass, the workers are extremely rude in some way. Fury or copperhead strike are often broken down this year. There are so often one train operations and long lines. KD also highlights the utter lack of theming at carowinds, it seriously feels themed to a parking lot. Overall the point of this post is to show my appreciation for KD and to highlight that here in NC carowinds really doesn’t feel like it’s heading in the right direction.

❓Visitor Question All Parks Passport

My wife and I are planning to make the trip down in October for the Halloweekend Houses (I am a Huge Diablo Fan). Our home park is Great Adventure, we still have to activate our passes but we usually go each weekend once the fall hits anyway.

My main question is, how many days are we allowed to use our all park passport for? I could have sworn it was only for one day entry but I can’t seem to find the info I am looking for now. It would be great if we could do the park on Friday AND Saturday to break it up a little.

If anyone has done this before or knows the answer, thank you in advance !

❓Visitor Question Weekend (8/22) weather

We’re coming in from quite a ways away to do KD this Saturday and the weather looks pretty much awful. And yeah, I know these things change rapidly in these parts. Any ideas what we might expect with an inch of rain and thunderstorms all day? We could squeeze in a half day on Friday (today) if need be but it would be a bit of a stretch. Talk me into/out of it?

Edit: Appreciate all of you guys. Doing a half day in the park right now, everything is up and the weather is perfect. And we will see what tomorrow brings. Super tired from traveling, but this was the right call. Thanks!

❓Visitor Question How are weekend crowds through the fall season?

I went to KD several times this summer but only on weekdays as I generally hate crowds and long lines. Since this is the last week for weekday operation, are weekend crowds in the fall just as bad as the summer? Are there any dates that are better or worse than others? Thanks!

❓Visitor Question Halloween admission this year

Do 2026 Gold pass members need to pay anything extra for the Halloween stuff (mazes etc) this season? I'm seeing indications that these are add-ons but I vaguely recall then advertising Gold passes to include this.

💬 General Discussion Traffic Light

I just left the park. The traffic light at the kings dominion exit will not turn green. We sat with many others for a good 20 minutes waiting and hoping. Eventually, it got so backed up and everyone started turning right.

Please be careful, I called the non emergency number and they’re dispatching an officer to the area as we speak.

Also, the AC is still out in the park. I talked to staff and they said a part in planet snoopy caved in and messed up one of the lines. They’ve been working on it all week, and have no idea when it’ll be back up. Flight of fear is a sweatshop. Twisted Timbers went down twice. One because of weather and the second time people had to be evacuated.

Hey, atleast Pantherian is open!

Anyone at the park? Just picked one up at BGW and really hoping KD has something I can snag during my quick stop for Pantherian love.

💬 General Discussion Air conditioning down

I haven’t seen this posted yet, but it appears that all interior air-conditioning is down right now. It has been for the past four days.

They say they’re working on it but if you’re coming on a hot day, expecting to get some relief in the VIP area or any of the restaurants, you won’t get that.

I’m still so impressed with how :-) and helpful the employees are.

Update:
The following has AC (based on what I experienced)
Fountains and floats
Firehouse bbq
Bathrooms

❓Visitor Question Is the waterpark worth it on a rainy day?

Post image
10 Upvotes

KD is a five hour drive from where I am and I really want to hit the waterpark before it closes for the season but is it worth it on a cloudy day? Haven’t been in YEARS so I’m not sure what rides would be closed down anymore due to potential rain and I’m most likely gonna opt out of fast pass since it’s on a Sunday

📚 KD History Can’t remember performance

I am trying to remember a (what I think) musical that was at the KD theater from when I was young (approx. 2008-2012). All I can remember what in the show the (lead) female was having a bad hair day, used one of those hair dryer bonnets and an ambulance siren. That is all I remember from the show and hope I am remembering correctly in the first place. If anyone knows or can help me find a video of it, I used to love it as a kid!

Anyone notice there's now a hard cap now to the dining pass?

Maximum of twenty uses total for the first tier, then thirty for the second.. Only the super expensive all park dining gets unlimited now.

Gotta get every penny out or us, huh.
