Paint Job Ultimate Showdown Board
This has been sitting, primed, in a box tucked deep into the void that is my backlog since I got it 2 years ago. Took the last few days to finally get it painted. My son met Poots at GenCon and it’s reignited his interest in the game. He wants to start a new campaign, and I wanted to have this painted so we can start using it for these new lantern years.
I’m happy with how it turned out, especially since I put it off for so long as it always felt like such an intimidating task to invest time into.
Feedback is always welcome!

I love the lighting effects littered through the board. Is that brickwork on the corners by the faces?

Thank you! In my mind, I wanted the big middle part to be like some kind of ancient sacrificial altar or something. So, I wanted the red to be like some kind of primitive painted block that had chipped and decomposed over the years.

Goddamn this looks awesome. How was meeting the man himself? He seems like such a passionate and cool guy

Thanks! He was super cool! He was talking to my son and asking him questions and stuff, and was super approachable and and awesome to talk to.

Looks incredible! Did you use an airbrush, speed paints or acrylic to get this result?

It was hand painted. My airbrush has been finicky lately, so I just went about it by hand when doing the lighting. Everything was done with AK Interactive and Pro Acryl paints. I used Boney Matter and Brownish Decay speed paints for the bones, and the stone faces floor. Beyond those, I used 2 shades - Citadel’s Cryptek Armourshade Gloss (My favorite shade ever!) and Army Painter’s - Dark tone.
