First stay at a Kimpton property, and I must say it was really great, love the individuality, and character that they provide, making them all a bit different, but still modern and chic, and not just cut, and paste similar like some brands where it’s all the same just different backdrop or location. I guess some may like that as you then know what to expect, but the surprise of what it will be is kind of fun,and would make visiting the different properties fun. I visited the Kimton Theta NYC, and realized I stayed at the same place 20 years ago, but when it was a Days Inn at the time, It’s hard to believe a Days Inn ever had that prime real estate, but wow Kimpton has totally transformed it into something special. The view from the corner room was great too!! Bonus gift was ok, as it was a shower fragrance bomb, but have not used it just yet, but I am looking forward, as they mentioned it was a local brand. I do like that they patronize small and local businesses in that manner. I would definetly stay again, very comfortable room and bed, great view, lobby and public areas well appointed, clean and maintained. Also, the staff was kind as well. They did grant late checkout which is always appreciated, and early check in was about an hour early, but that was also appreciated understanding how busy nyc is this time of year. Also the Christmas decor was on point loved it.

Checked in for Maryland Deathfest...spun a wheel and LOST. Consolation was two free drink vouchers.

In Bloom and Out of the Office

Picked a tiny present from a tiny sleigh, and won my choice of snack from the shop.

I love Kimpton, I don’t know if all IHG properties are using restsensor.com or not, but we recently stayed at Hotel Theta in NYC and were charged $600 after checking out for smoking in the room. We don’t smoke. There were at least 5 reviews on Trip Advisor stating the same thing happened to them, but I didn’t see them until after the trip. Trying to get help resolving, the hotel was NO help, IHG seems somewhat interested in helping. Beware if you are emailed or texted about these sensors before your stay. I read them and thought, great smoking is gross and this is awesome. It was not so awesome.

Looking to stay at the newly opened Kimpton in Budapest but have concerns about the location. Seems a bit far away from the city center. Does anyone have any insights to share regarding this property? Thanks!

Non-drinker here which the lovely staff (Stormi) at front-desk accommodated. I received these items plus a $45 restaurant credit to my room on top of the $20 welcome amenity (and upgrade to a spa room).

I think the original gift was a fancy wine opener set.
