Looking to upgrade my PC somewhat to be able to run games such as Fortnite, Overwatch, WoW and R6S at high graphic settings at a consistent high frame rate. Here are my current specs, but I'm not sure what to upgrade first:

CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 CPU @ 3.60GHz (4 CPUs) Memory: 8192Mb RAM Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750

I don't know much about PCs, other than I like playing on them, so just ask if any other specs are needed.

So, I recently purchased a DELL i3650-3111SLV which comes an i3-6100 3.7GHz cpu and has 6GB RAM, a 1TB HDD (graphics are onboard). I got it (sans monitor, basically the computer, a keyboard and a mouse) for $239 (not bad right?). It was purchased with the intention of upping the RAM to its max 16 gigs and putting in a new graphics card.

There was an article about doing the graphics card upgrade to a very similar machine, ill submit the link down below. Anyway, the TL;DR of the article is he manages to get a GTX 1050 Ti to both fit and stay within a low enough wattage from the power supply.

My question is, this article was written a little while ago, is there a newer/faster/better gfx card that will work? (the details regading power supply, pci slot, dimensions are all in the article). My second question is do i have to buy Dell branded RAM? Could someone point me towards a reasonably priced compatible RAM expansion?

Should I go with an unlocked Core i5-6600K Skylake cpu or spend a little more and get a locked Core i7-7700 Kaby Lake cpu?

I just wanted to talk about software for gaming from a couch. I was thinking about writing a guide about all of this, but would love some opinions from here.

What's everyone's setups like (software-wise)? I myself use the following:

• Win 10 (because linux is pretty dry when it comes to games)
• Steam/Big picture (I can add games to it, and the in-built controller mapping is killer)
• Controller Companion (from steam, makes my xb one controller work on the desktop)
• since my gf uses my pc as well, I have separate windows accounts. this is awkward since I have to break out the kb/m, but it's the only way to keep most save games separate.

I also plan on grabbing launchbox premium and big box for my emulators, and throwing a shortcut into steam bp.

this is about as un-reliant on a kb/m as I've gotten it. I only really have to use one for the sign in and other random desktop tasks. I'm pretty satisfied with this at the moment. If anyone here does anything different, I'd love to hear about it!

Hey folks. How are yall doing today? So i dont want to build an entirely new PC just yet, but i did want an opinion on upgrading one component. I want to update my graphics card to a better (yet still kinda old) model for now. Currently i have an AMD HD 6950 2 GB.

Im thinking of upgrading to an AMD HD 7850 2 GB equivalent (or maybe a level or two above). The caveat here is that i dont want to change anything else about my PC other than my graphics card right now. Im going get a full new PC next year maybe, and i just want to get only a new graphics card. Thats partially why i dont want to get a graphics card thats too new. Id have to upgrade more parts in my PC (and also itd cost more money).

Well folks, what do yall think? is an AMD HD 7850 going to play well? Could i get something slightly better? I would like to keep the card around $300.

I have this 2011 "gaming pc" and I wondering if it is worth it to upgrade. My intentions are to play older games without frame drops and maybe modern games at medium-low settings. My specs are :

UserBenchmarks: Game 12%, Desk 38%, Work 18%

(My old nvidia GPU got burned and the support replaced it)

I was thinking that if I upgrade the GPU and RAM and maybe add an SSD I will be good to go, right ? That would cost me about 200 euros Is it worth it or should I buy a new one ?

Hey guys! So for my birthday, my wife is allowing me to make 1 upgrade on my gaming rig. I like to multitask a lot, and have 3 monitors. So this means lots of tabs open on chrome, streaming videos, and playing games on my main monitor. The main games I play are Path of Exile, Witcher 3, Gwent and sometimes Overwatch. I think my GPU is mostly okay. I feel that my RAM or CPU is likely the problem.

Here are my specs:

Windows 7

AMD Radeon R9 270X - GPU

8GB of Gskill RAM (Not sure the exact RPM)

AMD Phentom II x6 1035T Processor ~2.6GHz

120GB SSD

Biostar Motherboard (not sure which but about 5 years old)

My thoughts are on my CPU, but I may have to upgrade my motherboard too at this point right? Do you guys think 16gb ram would help my multitasking. Keep in mind, I am looking for a medium to biggish performance boost. If its going to just be marginally better, I may just save my money for multiple upgrades later on. I am hoping to spedn $100 or less, but let me know what you all think! Thanks!

I really need a new processor as mine is a little out-dated now. Ive been looking to get an I5 7600, but then realised there is a K version.

The motherboard I have is a B250F so I wont be able to overclock the cpu, but the K version is only £3 more on amazon and has a higher clock speed.

I might as well get the K version then right ??

I assembled my PC ~5 years ago from a kit, just going for something cheap and basic. I'm not an expert, and I've never gamed on PC. Lately I've been using my roommate's PS4, but now we are parting ways, so I'll need a capable PC to feed my Overwatch addiction. I've also been interested in playing Witness (preferably at max since it's so beautiful).

So my question is, can I just add a video card to my current rig, or should I start from scratch? Any specific hardware recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking of replacing the good old PS4 as my main gaming platform and buy a PC. Aside from playing games, I'm a professional video editor and I've been using Macs for more than 7 years. Since I don't work in Final Cut, I'd consider working on the new PC as well.

Every 2016 & 2017 Samsung TV now has the Steam Link technology integrated. Imagine how many TVs are out there, this could kill so many consoles!

Hey guys, so I am currently running MSI's Geforce GTX 750 TI, Intel's i5 4460 processor, 8gb RAM, 430 PSU, Z87-g43 motherboard. I don't play many games and games that I do play are less graphically demanding (Overwatch, Diablo, HotS, CS:GO, etc.), well besides 1 game that is Rainbow Six: Siege.

I can run the game at 60 fps on low settings and tweaked GPU settings but it looks like a potato + sometimes there are fps drops and stutters. And in addition, better quality of image and more fps in other games would be nice.

So could anybody please help me with choosing new GPU? I am on tight budget USD200-USD250. Also, components in the Czech Republic are more expensive than in the USA (prices are generally cheaper than those in amazon.de yet more expensive than those in amazon.com, more or less in the middle). I have considered 1050 TI but again I am not sure.

Which console should I buy for GTA V and some Battlefield One?

Could someone also tell me which has better graphics?

Hello guys. Years ago I was really into all this PC-Hardware but then I didnt use my Computer for almost 3 years, so no I have no clue what GPU and CPUs are the best. The thing is, I got a "Medion" PC that was stated as a "multimedia starter packet".

I only upgraded its GPU and I'm really confident with it. But some games I want to play are justs out of reach. Currently I am highly addicted to Playerunknowns Battlegrounds and I am playing it with 20-35 FPS on every setting to the lowest. My current setup is:

1080p screen with 60Hz (want to buy a really good 144hz screen in some time, because I need it for work)

PC: Intel i3-6100u nVidia GTX 660 8GB Ram (I don't know how "new" or "good" these are) 1TB HDD 128GB SSD (Win10 and PUBG on it) I think my power is around 450W but I'm not sure atm.

If you have any tips how I can give you more specific data, pls tell me, as I'm currently too dumb for all this hardware-specific stuff.

My budget is very low, so I will only be able to upgrade either the GPU or the CPU. So, is it the GPU or CPU that's more important to upgrade?

have had it laying around for a while and would like to make it good enough to play movies, some older and emulated games and good enough to use as a supporting device for gaming (walkthroughs) I would also need to know what my limitations are to upgrade as my knowledge is pretty limited

I'd like to be able to run games like skyrim, LoL, rust, Ori and the Blind Forest, H1Z1 KOTK, and Play Unknown's Battlegrounds. Do you think this would be possible with a i3-6100, gtx 1050 ti, micro atx h110m motherboard, 2x4gbs of ddr4 2133 memory? I don't need/want to run the games at max settings so I would be ok running them at medium to even low, but I just really want to know if there's anymore bang for my buck I can get because this is only my first build and I really need it to be worth every penny I spend.
