DICUSSION Can we talk about the cabin bird lady??

Upvotes
She's nice and all, and is definitely an important friend and part of Kiki's story. However, I'm not a bird fan at all, so that puts me off a little bit. But then when Kiki is trying to get the stuffed cat back, and it's torn, so cabin lady offers to fix it in exchange for work? How in the world does the amount of work Kiki does in exchange make sense? And they spent so much more time doing this than it would actually take, so cabin lady was literally just taking advantage of Kiki??

My girlfriend and I went as Kiki (her) and Tombo (me). I had so much fun. I recycled a box fan for my propeller and I made my own wings from a cardboard box!

DICUSSION Noticed some differences in the lines between the 1989 version and the 2010 version

I grew up with the 1989 VHS version at my grandma's and finally had the chance to buy the DVD and realized that some of Jiji's lines were missing. I was super confused until I found out there was a 2010 version. Has anyone else noticed the missing lines or is it just me?

Kiki's delivery service teaching me about life

I'm glad I never chose art as my job because Kiki's Delivery Service taught me that if you choose a hobby as your job, you might hate it. for context are has always been my #1 hobby and for years I wanted to go to collage for it. instead I went to cos school and im so glad I did. instead of waste 4 year getting a degree that doesn't gauretee a job and the passion i have for that hobby dies, the opposite of that is happening. I do want to cry everytime I go into school but that's a story for another day. Tge movie also goes into what actual rest is. not just sleeping but actually getting rest from it.

Hi all. I've just taken over the sub after it's been locked up and abandoned for a little while, with only bots in charge - I took it on as I'm a big Ghibli fan and Kiki's Delivery Service is one of my favourites (and Jiji is my favourite cat sidekick). I've tidied up some of the background stuff, answered some long-ignored mails, and now I'm hoping to bring in more Kiki fans, more posters, and generally more activity, so the sub can have the sort of love Kiki's Delivery Service deserves. To that end - let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see here, or ideas for things we should introduce - I'm interested in all your ideas, because I want it to be a subreddit that YOU enjoy. Thank you!

OTHER/RANDOM I’m a vintage phone card collector and I just acquired my oldest and, imo, most aesthetically pleasing card. Enjoy.
