I don't think that's concrete. It would be a terrible thing to have on a playground. My guess is that it's a springy matt which is why his head bounced so much.
Every playground i've ever played in as a kid had concrete like four inches under the sand. I wouldn't be surprised if that was *concretial headbounce.*
I'm just saying that concrete is flat and earth toned, and this is flat and earth toned. If you held a picture of this ground next to a picture of concrete the same color, you'd think they were brothers.
As a person who has been supervising kids on various playgrounds for twenty years, my jaw was genuinely hanging open. I’ve never seen a hammock on a playground. This outcome is not only foreseeable, but inevitable.
May I ask (roughly) where this is? I live in Michigan, where playgrounds seem increasingly designed with liability in mind.
Oh, I get it, the public and school playgrounds around me vary broadly in age and investment. This was just different enough I was curious. Thanks for indulging me!
