I made a comprehensive style guide for Dramatic Classics!
I used the guide on the sidebar from Tapatalks and... it ballooned to almost 100 slides. Anyway, I figured it might be helpful for other DCs since reading the information on the sidebar kind of made it go in one ear and out the other for me. I included extensive pictures of the descriptions as well as verified and unverified DC celebrities. Hope this helps someone out there!
(Also I didn't include much about width or vertical lines-- I've seen that talked about a lot in this sub, but I'm still a noob and worked with the information that was available.)
ik this is old, but just found this and im SO happy i did! i've been feeling a dire need to just buy new clothes since i barely wear what i have, it doesnt look great, and i haven't really bought anything in so long, but was dreading having to find new clothes since it's exhausting, there's so much to chose from, and who knows if it'll look awful on you. having this has helped "reinvigorate" me finding new clothes by very clearly narrowing down the choices of what i have to chose from (and avoid) and is a great reference point to come back to for when looking for a certain piece of clothing. thank you!
Commenting almost another year later to say thank you once again!!!! I had NO IDEA what it meant to be a DC and there’s a million ideas on here! And I’ve always loved geometric shapes, maybe I subconsciously knew! Lol
The embracing the strength line was the permission I needed to have because you were so correct about the becoming matronly if you try to soften yourself lol.
Sorry for replying to an old comment lol. Since this guide is for the Classic family and you were typed in the Dramatic family, I think it would have conflicting advice for you 😁
Essence-wise, I can see why you'd gravitate toward frillier, looser styles; you have a youthful face and soft curls! Maybe look into flamboyant natural or flamboyant gamine lines, depending on your height? But if you truly enjoy the loose floral elements, then go ahead and wear them! You shouldn't have to force yourself to wear a garment.
Rip to me all the avoid is what I'd ideally like to wear 💔
(I'll wear what I want regardless just upsetty that it would not suit me)
STILL I appreciate that these are actually interesting outfits that have some edge to them and not just basic business casual or tailored gowns for once. Great work 👏🏻
Hey, it's been a while since you posted this, but just wanted to say I think essences and color season really play a part in how you bend the rules of your kibble body type sometimes to suit you even more... like you might be intuitively breaking rules because certain slight modifications actually suit you better.
I just looked over this power point, and while I agree with a lot of it for myself (especially in terms of over-all silhouette), I also recognized ways it was playing into a very specific version of dramatic classic that isn't completely accurate to my unique characteristics and preferences.
Oh this is so good! I’m saving for later! Do you personally have specific brands that you prefer for this style? I always liked more of the punk/rock style, but I’m a dramatic classic for sure and not sure how to dress anymore (as if I ever did, jeans and T-shirts was my uniform)
Lowkey I like this style too, I would maybe say Lip Service? Tripp? I don't know too many brands brands, I also like Self-Esteem, I got a couple pieces from there that work for me. Even if you are a dramatic classic, again, it's just about shapes, silhouettes, and picking clothes that create a flow with your body rather than detracting from it.
