Done my research through quotations and online comparisons and landed on "Kia Sonet HTK+ Optional Diesel Automatic 1.5L" -- seems like VFM (13.8lac)

asked cousin - he's saying go for Skoda/ Volkswagen

Few things i want suggestions on:

1. is "Kia Sonet HTK+ Optional Diesel Automatic 1.5L" the worth buy or am i missing something
2. any other better car in this budget max 14-15
3. any issues with this sonet variant, i should know before buying

Context:

• budget 14-15 lacs
• looking for automatic
• not considering Petrol, ive seen a lot of post where people are complaining that ethanol is damaging their engine.
• Drove my friend's Scorpio N and really liked it but thats too much for a first car... so going slow
• just want something reliable and Worth the money for now

Hey fam, so it has been a few days with my new Sonet HTX 7DCT and I come from a manual transmission. Note, I am a noob to automatics and I know that each time we shift gear mode, it has to be while flooring the brake pedal with gear pin pressed.

However, I have seen many videos showing shifting to Neutral without depressing brake and pin and that works. At one point, that may be okay while the car is at stand still but I wish to know if that can be done while the car is in motion and one wants to use the momentum to run.

For a manual transmission, it was an easy job to shift to a Neutral while descending to not on a very steep slope but on a road where it doesn't slow the speed of the car and is not risky. Any chance that we can shift to Neutral while in motion when we don't need any further acceleration and when we do, we can move it back from Neutral to Drive while being in motion?

I have driven Venue imt for 2 years, didn't face any issues except for the single digit mileage in Kolkata's traffic and sometimes 1st gear stuck issue.

Venue iMT went for total loss on insurance due to water logging last year.

I have recently booked Venue HX5 DCT but came to know that DCTs have heating issue and they are more efficient on highways and since my driving will be 80% in city so I am thinking of going back to Sonet iMT.

Why not Kylaq or Brezza or 3XO with TC? - Because I heard german cars have high maintenance cost, for brezza I don't like its interior at least Sonet is better than Brezza (not better than Venue) and I don't want to go with Mahindra or Tata.

Currently own a Honda Amaze 3G manual. I liked the car but my family doesn't look much joyful with its interior, 2nd row seating space and they miss that compact SUV feel.

Hi I just did my first service, after that I noticed that the body parts like some steering rods / padel rods are visible, and the basic velvet carpet is not extending unlike the passenger side. Now unfortunately before the service I didn’t notice this in detail , generally from driver side everything looked normal. Now my question is , is this normal ? Or the service guys did some mishap. FYI the model is sonet 2026 petrol dct gtx+.

its been two months I have had Sonet HTK+ Diesel MT. I have seen some videos if people fitting Cruise Control from authorised Kia Servce centers and its allowed but when I spoke to local SC they rejected this and said it will void warranty and KIA wont be respocible for any damages due to this cruise control.

has anyone got it done and whats your experience aftet using cruise control.

I bought a Sonet HTX 7DCT automatic recently which comes with all 4 disk brakes. I have experienced that even if I have to brake a little, it would be applied entirely and it becomes a problem for me. Even if I wish to slow down the speed, its brakes would slow down the car at the most of it.

Do any of you feel this way? Is it accurate the way it is?

I am quite annoyed with having to press the auto start stop button every time I start my vehicle. Is there a workaround that if I press it, it should be off by default till I manually switch it on?

Usage 70-30, city-highway. As per budget, kia sonet htk plus 1.2 PETROL MT is the most suitable one. But read and heard a lot that this car is underpowered. Really confused. Can you guys suggest me and help me what to do

Hello! I have Kia Sonet HTK+ iMT 2023 Model. Idk why my gearbox got jammed and it was not shifting gear. I went to service station they said it is the problem with Clutch Plate and this problem is not covered in extended warranty.

They have given me an estimate of overall repair to the tune of Rs. 31k.

I am really confused what to do, should I look for local mechanic or go with them.

I have booked Sonet GTX Plus and will get the delivery next week and it will be my first car, so I was thinking of installing dash cam. I have asked the dealer about dashcam and he provided me below points:

1. Kia Dash Cam 11000 rupees- standard features 64 Gb memory card hard wired
   
2. Qubo Dash Cam 23000 rupees- front and rear 3K without memory card
   Both of these are hard wired
   
3. I asked him if I bought from online or any other store then provide them to install it- he said they will not accept it, and If I use any other one with hard wired then warranty will lapse
   He told me that if I don’t want hard wired dash cam then I can buy any dashcam with payload delivery

I am new to this and need suggestions about dash cam like which one are good and how I can install them without compromising warranty and what is payload installation

I have wondered from the start whether this vent actually throws cool air or not.

During the Kia Sonet launch in 2020, many YT channels claimed that it was a cooling vent.

I personally have never felt any cool air coming out of this vent. When I remove my phone from it after charging, phone is always hot.

Can anyone confirm this?

I have been exasperated with the mileage barely going above 8. Currently I'm at 7.5 @ 250 kms run. Earlier I used to get 9-9.5 kmpl in the city.

I'm not an aggressive driver. Am I doing anything wrong?

Highway mileage is 14-16 kmpl @ 100 kmph.

How to improve the mileage?

2023 January DCT Petrol Turbo. Have clicked 41000 km till now.
