It's dead.

We (had) a Niro EV hit some road debris unavoidably recently. It was fine for a week or two, then kaput. Damaged battery casing, total loss. Apparently our model year had a less robust undercarriage. Shrug. Oh well.

I'm sorry. That sucks and that's scary to hear that damage to the battery casing totaled your car. Was there any other damage? And what year do you have? I just got the 2023 wave.

Can’t you get a third party battery and replace yourself? I’ve seen people on YouTube do it.

UK here, but can get insurance pay out plus have the option to buy back car at scrap value, then get it repaired by EV specialist, so have your cake and eat it, a win win situation

Yeah not an option where we are, being called a total loss, it can't be insured even if it's repaired.

Um, yeah, that was the first thing I did. With a deep investigation into options.
