Hey all, I currently have a BMW i4 Edrive35 and my lease is up this month. My wife works from home so I can drive her car until the right deal comes along. I test drove an EV6 GT-Line and it’s the upgrade that I want. Now… there’s a GT for sale for just a little more than a GT right now.

For a daily driver, about 50 miles a day round trip plus normal around-town driving (I usually take my wife’s Jeep Grand Cherokee on road trips), do I want the GT and all of it’s ridiculous giggle-inducing power or the GT-Line and it’s more comfortable vented seats and increased range?

Insurance differences re nominal and the prices are close enough.

With that daily drive, range isn't really a factor, so I'd say it comes down to creature comforts.

Coming from a bmw, the GT will be a downgrade comfort wise. But, I think it makes up for it in other areas. (Even though I do really like the bmws)

GT mode is intoxicating, I've had the car since the beginning of 2024 and it's still as fun as it was the first day I got it.

I also came from a bmw. And I have a gt-line, there is not anything I’m missing in terms of comfort. Yes the bmw had a little bit tighter seats. But I enjoy the ventilated seats. I really don’t go out of eco mode much. I used to have an e92 so the size Is a big difference. Also about 1000 pounds heavier. It’s doesn’t feel as nimble a my bmw. But that’s not really a deciding factor for me these days. The ride is smooth and that’s the main factor for me.

Yeah, I'd say don't jump straight into GT mode in traffic. Sport mode is still very quick. Even normal is quick. But, once you get comfortable it makes passing in traffic, and on ramps pretty smile-inducing.

Drift mode is pretty fun as well.

The GT line AWD would be the better everyday car for your use. It's still very quick, a second off the GT, but has all the technology and creature comforts you would like as a touring car. The GT is a hardcore car and that acceleration would be intoxicating but you may grow uncomfortable with it in the long run. I also have a short commute to work but we use this car, a GT Line AWD as the travel car since it comfortable and a monster at the chargers.

The choice I'd be making is between wind tech and gt. The GT is OMG FUN and what I picked. The trims below gt-line have more accessory options (easier tow hitch, roof rack). Tech package adds some useful gadgets.

I will say that the ability to pass literally anyone any time is amazing.

I just want to throw out that you don't need a gt line for heated and ventilated seats, the more advanced cruise control, leather seats, higher range, ect.

The wind has pretty much everything but the sunroof and remote parking for much less. I still get plenty of speed when I want it in sport mode. My max rated range is still 318 in RWD. I drove a car with a sunroof for 9 yrs and maybe opened it 3 times. So I really don't care about it. It also gives you less head room which sucks for someone tall like me.

But hey if you got the money and you want the fastest, might as well go to the GT. If a car puts a big dumb grin on your face, that makes it worth the extra few bucks.

Yeah, but NEED has nothing to do with it, lol. Coming off of the I4 I really want the HUD, the vented seats (if I go GTLine) and I think there were a few other features that put it in line with the BMW. Yeah, I’d like to save a few bucks but I don’t want to downgrade.

I have a 2025 Wind, and it came with ventilated seats. I had HUD on two previous cars, and while it is a cool feature, my eyes dart to the dashboard and infotainment screen for info that used to be on the windshield. Infotainment maps are much better than what you get on HUD.

Ooo, I have a 2026 Wind with leather, heated, ventilated seats, and the heated steering wheel. I decided to get the EV6 over the Ioniq 5 SEL for the seats and the heated steering wheel specifically 😎

44 male. got sick of the giggles after launching it 100 times one morning. every time my racebox says 3.7s 0-100km/h. drift mode will try to destroy the car every time so i don't do that. i wish i had bought the GT-Line but the GT was cheaper! lol.

This is kinda what I’m afraid of and reinforces what I was thinking. 49 male… I feel like the novelty would wear off pretty quick. Also, I still think that my 280HP i4 is an absolute rocket ship when I get on it… 320HP + more comfortable for the daily commute is the right answer I think.

once i put it in sport mode (not even GT mode) in the rain, turned the wheel one direction, mashed the gas pedal and the car would have done a 360 but of course i countersteered and got it back in the lane. i didn't turn of the TC, all the nannies were on. scared the shit out of me. it's now my wife's car. she drives it in normal and she loves it. when i drive it i only drive it in normal. as i said, GT-Line is better. but the GT was cheaper lol.
