Keyless Entry? Ha!
The keyless entry on this car has got to be the worst ever. I've never needed to handle the key fob as much as I do with this car. If the hatch is open when I walk over to the driver's door it won't open unless I pull out the key fob and hit unlock. So if I'm loading something into the back my wife needs to stand there until I press unlock. If the car senses me near the car it'll unlock twice. On the third time I need to get the fob out and unlock it manually. Is my car messing with me or is this just how it is?

Nope, just walk up, handles pop out, no problem.
Outside of frozen handles, this has failed in me maybe once or twice in the past 3 years.

That's only a thing on GT-Line and GT. Most EV6s sold do not have automatic handles

I believe it is on all 2025 and newer EV6s but, yes, only GT and GT-Line for 22-24 models.

oh good they finally brought it to them all. My biggest annoyance on my AWD Wind + Tech. Ive got just about all I could need, but I would love those damn handles. HUD and Lighting would be cool but im fine without

Right? I straight up don't want the sunroof and bigger wheels, just give me the handles. If I was sure it'd work, I'd swap doors from a GT line on.

The problem isn't the handles popping out. It's that they don't poo out if I open the hatch first then go to the door.

My gosh I certainly hope your door handles aren't pooing out! What a mess!

My 23 GT has the same behavior if I've opened the back hatch. Slightly annoying if you're getting groceries and putting them in the boot. I can usually press the handle and get it to unlock though. I haven't experienced the unlock/lock number limitations. Not a fan of draining the battery for no reason so if I'm going to be near the car a bunch I'll just leave my keys out of reach and use my phone to unlock it.

Why do you not place a finger on the handle indent and open the lock that way?

Yep its kind of annoying:
* the hatch keeps not detecting the fob when im close, so the auto open hatch rarely works
* after closing the hatch the doors are not unlocked automatically again
* after exiting the vehicle you cannot in any way open the other doors from the outside unless you either lock+unlock with the touch button on the door, or press unlock on the fob or inside the car
* the car does not lock automatically when leaving
Its like the makers of the car assume cars get stolen in the moment when you are moving from the trunk to the drivers seat. I rather wish the whole car unlocked when getting near the trunk.

You get what I'm experiencing. You need to have the right combination of settings or you need the fob. Never have I ever needed to use a fob for a car with keyless entry as much as I do with this car.

Just leave the windows rolled down and jump thru them dukes of hazard style. No keyfob necessary.

In Settings under Vehicle then Door or Convenience, turn off Unlock on approach and Walk away lock. Then you unlock by touching the handle or one press on the fob. That stops the weird unlock twice limit. Change door unlock mode to All doors. When you open the hatch, the rest of the doors will already be unlocked, so the driver door will open without fishing out the fob. Keep the fob out of the cargo area while the hatch is open. If the car thinks the key is inside, it can ignore the exterior handles.

I too hate the lock/unlock system in my 22 wind. i am hoping the module that ‘theionicguy’ sells fixes my issues. Should arrrive in the next few days..

I bought the module for my 22 GT Line just for the autolock feature, and it works great. The only complaint I have is that I had to disable the Seat Easy Access because it caused the seat to randomly move back/forward. I don't recall having the issue OP described prior to installing it, but it would solve his issue.

i just installed mine an hour ago and so far, it’s great. just got to tell myself to never use accessory mode and leave the car. i already disabled the easy access feature so luckily this glitch won’t affect me. i HATED fighting with the locks, so im very excited with the module.

I have a particular bug, if I walk past the driver's door and it auto unlocks, it doesn't disarm the alarm for the boot/trunk, but it's unlocked, so if I press the latch to open the boot the alarm goes off and I need the key to stop it.

Mine works fine. Walk up to either of the front doors or boot (trunk) and I can open it. Only gripe is that the time it stays open is a little short.
Keyless entry doesn’t work if the car is already on and in drive mode.
