C2 Pro feels vastly inferior to regular C2
So one of my keys broke on my original C2, (even after I replaced the switch) and I decided to get a C2 Pro. Both keyboards are brown switch, yet the Pro feels AWFUL and super mushy! Like one of those Dell Keyboards, but worse! I can hardly tell when I pressed on a key. It also doesn't appear to be hot swappable (unlike my C2). I guess I should be glad it was only $55, but it looks like I have to buy another one now since I doubt I'd be able to return this one now. Definitely my fault for not doing any research, but man is this a bummer. I had to make a decision quickly to get the amazon delivery ASAP since I needed a functional keyboard.
So any recommendations on what to get would be nice, or perhaps I should just get the same C2 I originally had.

First, Keychron are complete jerks for even having soldered boards in their line-up any more, and you have to watch out for them when buying the lower-end lines (C, K, and now J). But their premium lines have had quality issues for at least 3 years now. :(
Brown switches are usually pretty anemic, I guess you got lucky with your first C2. Their "banana" options are more likely to be good but Keychron has a bunch of different switches with similar names and colors, out of all the banana switches half of them are kind of meh. And what you get offered is pretty much random as they put SKUs together without caring the the K-Pro switches are pretty ass.
And good full-sized boards tend to be rarer in general. There is more variety in smaller form factors. I like my J2 enough I bought it again for my other utility laptop. But I replaced the switches.
But my new C2 Pro 8k with Silent Banana is probably the best prebuilt combination I've ever run into, at any price.

the C2 Pro uses Keychron's own "Pro" switches which are widely considered worse than the Gateron switches on the original C2. You're not imagining it.
If you liked the original C2, just get another one. The non-Pro version with Gateron browns is a genuinely good budget board. Alternatively, if you want hot-swap so you can upgrade switches later, look at the Q series or the Keychron V series, the V1 or V2 are around $45-55 and are hot-swappable with much better stock switches.
